How do I stop wind from breaking my pig houses?

I would also like to know this. Or if it's not supposed to be an option, I'd like to have a good source of Pig Skins so they can at least be replaced without too much hardship. I haven't seen any pig heads except around a touchstone, and it's difficult to find a pig village when there's no roads leading to them. (I can't tell if they're actually rarer in Shipwrecked or just harder to find.)

As DarkXero said, the only way is to stay far from those houses.

 

I think there is just one big pig village island with a of berry bushes per word.

 

You can look for spider dens tier 3, plant one spider egg near some pig houses, and turn pigs into were-pigs to farm meat and pigskin. Built more pig houses, so you can have more pigs to turn into were-pigs and speed-up farming.

Is there any way to prevent pig houses from being destroyed? Can you collect the materials after it's been destroyed (similar to the hammer), or are they gone for good?

You can collect the materials, but as a hammer, there only spawn half of the materials of a pig house.

This is bullshit. There should be a solution too. I have never seen a problem in DS or DST without any solution. Just putting structures away was my strategy too but there should be a wall to break wind as well... There is fires and there is ice flingomatic there is flood and there is sandbags. Why there is no solution to prevent this except escaping from pig houses in wind?

I actually think you are right.

 

It could be a pendant to the ligthning rod that prevents lightnings to hit your structures in a specific radius.

 

Maybe a Wind Turbine that "sucks up" all the wind in a smaller radius like the lightning rod.

(even if they dont work like that ^^) It could look similiar like the weather pain, but bigger and as a structure.

 

Or maybe just some kind of walls... that looks like sea weed sails. ^^

Idk whatever it is there should be a solution. Solution would be expensive I dont care but when game forces you to put your structures miles away from you that does not make sense and game is too broken at this stage..

Yes it should be as simple as building taller cement walls . 

 

stage 3 would suffice in height.

 

 

But then again,  that means youd have to build a wall COMPLETELY around your huts.

Just make the pig houses invulnerable to wind. There isn't really much of a point in making them break. If a falling boulder destroyes them --> fine but one can assume that wildboars are able to build huts that withstand the winds in their part of the world.

Won't they get hit by lightning then?  I've always kept the houses close to protect against hounds.  Having them off screen seems pointless since you'd need to lure the hounds to the pigs, or engage them all yourself.  This can be tricky early game, if it becomes nightime.

after losing one of only 3 wild boar huts I had managed to build I agree, I would really like to see some way of preventing this from happening. Pig skins are far too valuable of a resource to be able to so easily be wiped out. Eventually if all the wild boar huts get knocked down you wont even be able to build more huts...

I confess never reaching the point where I built pig houses, but I'd bet pig houses get knocked by wind because they're made of wood, and Don't Starve humor is not beyond a three little pigs reference :p

 

Which pretty much logically leads to stone pig houses as a new structure to solve the problem.

 

And add a new kind of wind-elemental hound that huffs and puffs to go with it, too (if they don't exist right now)

For those of us playing as Webber, I'm also finding that our spider nests are being destroyed

That's also true for the volcano rocks, and wild fire.

Why would a volcano aim its rocks at a single person?

Why would running away from your base save your base from being destructed?

This is quite ridiculous.

I don't know how they are going to fix it.

Since if the volcano rocks hits every point of the world, it would be way too powerful.

And allowing entities to work globally would be hard to implemented since that would probably require a heavy refactoring for the program.
