Reminds me a lot of some carnival or circus act. Probably the tone they were going for, given that the opening menu screen itself looks like a poster advertisement for some entertainment show. What did Maxwell do now?

Yes, well, since the whole of don't starve was made from the stage where Maxwell and Charlie before they gut sucked into the book, I'd say, I'm hypening about the story now!!!

I'd definitely prefer this one for DST though, it fits with the otherwise horrendous main screen image. Also I like the circus theory that's just evolved.

I felt like DS was like a carnival or circus of sorts. All the characters have some sort of attribute of magic, or weirdness, or strength, or general personality of a clown you would see in any circus or carnival.

A circus to entertain the shadows (watchers) maybe but can't say it's like a normal circus more likely one for the insane. Every character in the game so far has some kind of personality disorder (more or less).
