  1. 1. What do you think about this new story type thing.

    • Really cool, have my reputation!
    • It's neat.
    • Eh, meh...
    • Nah.
    • I wish it would die in a muddy ditch, alone, without friends, family, or HOPE!

IMPORTANT

Since the episodes of "Storytime" seem to be more enjoyed by more people than the other stories I tell here, everything else is now canceled so I can spend more time on it.  Thank you for reading.

What, just when people were dyin- I mean, when it was getting interesting?

I'm gonna hold off on having a reaction until I see if this sticks.

I do not appreciate being lied to. I suggest you revise your statement before I become disgruntled. I don't like being disgruntled.

Was my death interesting? That's good to hear. I think.

In that case...

I think I'm speaking for all of us saying that I'd enjoy it if every story you told here contained the words "Goi goi-tes peids." It's something every story's needed, but for some reason nobody uses it.

dammit, Kidney!

Battal, no need to worry. We all like both your storytime and the main story. It's just fun that you've found a way to spice up the cliffhangers with their nervous situations and the wait for the next part. Just write what you want to, who knows , maybe you'll make even more additional stories which you enjoy writing as a break after the big parts. Relaaaax and have fun, nobody can tell you what to do here... except for the mods... mods can do anything...

PART TWO

Segment 21

"William Carter"

    Day ?

I was a fool.

I should have known H would set a trap for them.  I should have come sooner.  If I had, the ones who fell might have survived.  But I digress.  Wallowing in the past won't get that damnable maniac off the throne.  The good news is that his quarry escaped alive, along with Will, the artist, and the...well really, I don't exactly know what it is yet.  I expect them to be back in full health relatively soon, but it may be some time.

The lapis lorem have been staying away.  My traps are proving to be effective against them, and they now are more wary about stepping into my territory.  I fear that they may adapt, however, and then it is back to the worry, the constant caution of the old days.  Hopefully we will be off before this happens.

Soon, that bastard will pay.

William Carter, also known as Maxwell the Great, closed his journal and set down his pen.  Not so great anymore, He thought as he opened the door into the infirmary.  His home was made almost entirely of marble, retrieved from the shrines once built in his honor.  He had felt no regret as they were torn down.  Taking a look at each of the patients lying unconscious within, he decided they required no further attention.  He left the room, now heading for the watchtower where he looked over the small patch of land he had claimed and now defended.  He couldn't see any lapis lorem, but they could still be out there.  Perhaps hiding beneath that clump of trees.  Or swimming closer and closer through that stream, latching onto everything with its tongue and dragging it into the wall of blades that was its mouth...

Maxwell shook his head.  The lorem were truly monstrous, but could be easily countered if you knew how.  Plus, they were utterly unoriginal.  Putting gems in creatures to give them powers was his idea, not H's.  All the same, Max thought with grudging respect, they are quite effective.  He looked across the lands for a bit longer before returning to his study.

Battal was lying down flat on a sterile white table in a sterile white room, devoid of any decoration of furnishings save for a little clock hanging from the ceiling.  The clock clicked each second as the hands slowly rotated, and apart from his own breathing, it was the only noise in the room.  The next thing Battal realized was that each breath just didn't seem to be enough for him.  It was like someone had placed a massive weight on his chest, preventing him from breathing properly.  He tried to move, to stand up, only to find his entire body was paralyzed like a statue.  He could not move an inch.

Tick, tock, tick, tock, The clock continued its droning noise as the hours drained by.  How long had he been lying here?  Days?  Weeks?  Months?  He no longer could tell.  After some time, however, a door opened out of the blank walls, admitting a jolly-looking fellow whose clothes and features were sterile as everything else.  "Hey, buddy!  How's it going?"  He asked in a cheerful voice.  Just from that voice, it could be easily seen that this guy was a friend.  Someone who would never hurt you.  "I'm just gonna do a quick operation, and then you'll be done.  Sound good?"

The table began to bend into a more chairlike shape, so Battal was sitting upwards instead of lying down.  The man raised a pair of rusty safety scissors, that cheerful grin still plastered on his face.  "Let's do it!"  He said, grabbing onto Battal's arm and closing the scissor's blades around his index finger.

He couldn't move, couldn't cry out in pain, only watch as his fingers were slowly and painfully worked off by the scissors.  His vision was blurred with red, and agony streaked through his body.  As the cheerful doctor continued his "surgery", Battal became aware of the dark figure from before, sitting in a sterile white chair which lay in a sterile white corner.

"Enjoy it while it's a dream, Deus Mortem.  Enjoy it while it's a dream."  He said, a sterile white smile spreading across his shaded face.  Then everything was gone.

I want to assist this surgery.

Let's use the prototype of the osteotome, and perhaps use a scarificator as well. Drain the blood out of the pitiful being.

Hell, while we're at it, let's amputate digits, limbs, and torso, in that order.

Do you have a need for test subjects and a distinctive head of hair? If not, you're probably not Lord H.

Don't spoil it for everyone.

Gosh darnit. I know who it is now, and I feel stupid for not realizing it.
