like i think every dst character sould return because yes

what about new faces however? well somewhat ne i guess but

this would be perfect, big treasure hunter guy in the tropics and those ruins with the castle would fit perfectly, i am talkin none other then WARBUCKS

then of course something full on related to the new castle area and all that, knight like character?

what else could one think  of?

heavy pass. even if klei was the the sort to just bring over old things instead of making new stuff on old ideas i'd rather we got the cute pig princess over the decomposing ham hock.

for sure though klei does have a habit of a non-human char on each expansion on the series so if i could be ridiculous i would say a goat/bat character would be fun~

Someone made a joke about it in the announcement thread, but I genuinely think that now is a good of a time as any to revisit this guy:Wallace_portrait.webp.7d4aef362c9d681db698e36aa9259707.webp

The castle full of bats is very fitting for a victorian era old man with a classic Dracula hairstyle.

I think this is where I'm at. Webber and Wigfrid feel like staples to the roster, and Wes will remin as a hard mode character.

Maxwell and Winona are important lore characters, but depending on the way from beyond ends, I could see them getting sidelined (and perhaps replaced with a survivor Charlie).

Obviously the original DS cast seems likely, and Wormwood returning from hamlet makes him seem pretty popular too.

Unlikely are fairly characters that I don't really see returning outside of possible DLC.

As for new survivors, I think the #1 possibility is Charlie. Would've hoped they'd use the new game to make Abigail a survivor, but that was always a pipe dream.

No Warbuck please, he is the only one I never want to see back. You know who else is a big treasure hunter guy, but not related to colonialism? Woodlegs! He would be pretty cool for that role.

Given the porcelain puppets, the taxidermy/sewn rabbits, the (windup?) keyhole WX-78, and the final doll at the end—
I feel like some sort of gothic marionette would make a fitting new character.

I wanna see Wurt back though; especially with the goats and swimming we see in the trailer.

is it too late to change my answer to this?

Considering that verticalicality is a new mechanic I wouldn't be surprised if they made a new character that has a mechanic that works around that, such as a mountanier or someone that flies... Wheeler is a hot air balloon pilot so there is that.

Additionaly, I know Woodlegs has low chances to comeback, but with how much water there is and with what seems to be semiaquatic ground I'm kind of hopeful he does return one day.

If Wormwood doesnt make it imma be real sad. But honestly they way klei has handdled him maybe its for the better.

I do hope we get some cool plant character though. I wouldnt mind them starting from scratch and going crazy with new ideas.

Or some cat/cat tamer cause I love cats. And I dont mean as anthropomorphic, i mean literally just a black cat.

A cat that can jump from high places and not take fall damage. A cat that can scratch with their claws and maybe a human butler that follows it around and does the mining while it plays with yarn.

Can you tell me please, what you mean here? I'm not a native English speaker, so it seemed strange to me:eek-new:

a ham hock is a red wrinkly piece of pig meat that is not as popular as either of the cuts of meat it is connected to and needs special preparations to make it less tough and tasteless(usually curing and/or slow simmering for hours).

warning; meat and bone

I was more referring to what it means in the context of your message, but anyway, thank you:wilson_dorky:

i only ever really watch without interacting, but i shalt break my silence on this important night to say: Please No Warbucks Please Please Please Please Please Just No

that said... i think the more esoteric possible character returns would largely rely on the specific mechanics of the game (ex: how dear wilba would feel out of place in an official DST release due to lacking the presence of the hamlet hogs) so it's a bit hard to say. that (also) said, i'd love to see more walter, winona, etc. the extra DST chars deserve a lot more love and i'd love to see more of them! :-]

I think that this depends on whether or not Elsewhere is a sequel to Together. Cuz, if Together's story culminating in... something, that sends our survivors to another realm then I could see Constant natives like Wurt, Wormwood and Wortox not coming along.

Additionally, Shadow vs Lunar storyline could result in aligned characters like Maxwell, Winona, Wanda and Wormwood being affected in some way and also missing from Elsewhere.

Ultimately it depends on if Elsewhere is a timeline continuation of Together and what Together's storyline conclusion will look like

Maybe if Wormwood doesn't come maybe he can have a little son that comes to this world, after all he is clearly capable of giving life to plants this would even give us a chance for a new twist on the character.

Would Wormwood need to give up his gem too, Steven Universe style? :)

"Wormweed, we can't both exist. I'm going to become half of you. And I need you to know that every moment you love being yourself, that's me, loving you and loving being you. Because you're going to be something extraordinary. You're going to be a living being"

I kind of love that though, could you imagine if they went full circle and gave us a character based on Wormwood's old design??

i'd put wormwood in "likely depending on the lore", maybe wormwood sacrifices his humanoid form (thus making him an unviable character gameplay wise) to destroy the shadows or he just can't function away from Alter
