for anyone who'd want the beta up attack animations back (me), i made a very quick mod for it that switches them back :]

Thank you, I really liked the new animation so I was sad to see it returned to the tantrum-throwing animation.

Alternatively… because Klei already had both animations on hand they could’ve added the second one in as being optional (toggleable in settings)

But that also pushes the game further and further towards scummy business practices territory when they start selling alternate animations.

They never said it will a rework. They simply said they have something planned about the atrium. Most likely something related to how we locate it since that was the them of the question they answered

Sorry, you're right. Rework it's a big word.

that's all?

It's the first mini-update of the usuals after a patch has been dropped. Let's wait but keep raising your voice to Klei

Did Beefaloes receive additional tuning? Looks like they have been buffed. The one I am currently taming in a world does not go into heat at the start of spring despite other Beefaloes doing so (while it's yet not fully domesticated). Beefaloes are great but taming them is starting to feel more like a chore than a rewarding challenge.

I guess the Gloom Bell changes can be considered alright since it is such a late-game item and having it break completely was not entirely in line with the Beefalo Bell. Now it's ludicrously forgiving to mess up taming and riding and fighting while mounted. This degree of forgiveness does not feel in line with the spirit of Don't Starve however. >_>

@JesseB_Kleihello! Can we have something to prevent ickers spawn, maybe pillars? Because it's not fun...

I mean....I don't know almost nothing about rifts, but isn't the main purpose of those thingamajigs to make the game "difficult"? To enter the "hardmode" (jeez, this is dumb)

You chose to active them, these are the consequences. If you did active them, it means you finished already the game. You should have plenty of items and strategies to deal with them.

This is not actually hard just annoying. And i trying to thinking not about just me but other people who just started opening rifts and don't have much experience.

I was following you until "who just started opening rifts and don't have much experience."

Again, you completed the game. Those people already know at that point the shenanigans of Don't Starve and Klei. Never and ever are new players or something. Just saying, I'm blind to that content.

You can create bridges to go around them, then protect those from earthquakes with pillars.

Skipping the bridge part with a pillar is reasonable enough, though.

I thought so too. Running into Icker in every passway is more boring and annoying than difficult, and always having 10-20 mobs surrounding the player feels like a potential source of lag.

Another thing, We must write "not hard" or "than difficult" to prevent guys who say "git gud" or "bUT uNcoMpROmIsiNg sRrVivAl" shows how depraved this forum has become recently.

True this kind of thing doesn't go in line with the spirit of Don't Starve - The Uncompromising Survival game.

However this change does go completely in line with the spirit of Don't Starve Together - The Forgiving Survival Game full of Compromises

Well, the in-game description of the original still lingers in the menu of DST. Can't wait for c_supergodmode() to be turned on by default. The last sentence was a joke. :encouragement::applause::victorious: In general this update is super lovely but gosh darn, the game can't be completely devoid of challenges or punishment for being clueless as a player.

Okay, time to try out the new saddle and collect more icker blobs.:d

How do set things on fire normally as Willow after enabling Controlled Burning?

Edit:

Holding right-click on an object with Willow's Lighter equipped loops the set-on-fire animation but the fire doesn't spread.

When you light a fire, you'll gain a new action called 'stoke' on any controlled fire!

Also yeah, the infinite lighting animation loop has always been a thing, it's not new and won't apply the propagated fire.

Honestly, I think this is my favorite set. It combines the tweaks from the in-beta one to the classic one, finally fixing those snapping and layering issues.
Even the up one got cleaned up a tad. Now they all match!

I think my ONE gripe is that the leg kick from the pre-beta animation got removed in the side attack. It's subtle, but noticeable.

This may be funny, but it’s not actually true, the game has been getting both simultaneously easier and harder at the same time.

And it’s hard to explain that in detail but I’ll try, players used to be able to freely run through the Birchnut tree biome without any sort of threats ever really bothering them, but those sneaky Otters now.. man they slither up in your face and hijack your crap right out your inventory.

The newer update not counting the large depth worm, adds a Day 1 rabbit boss that anyone can Summon by just feeding 10 carrots to a hole in the ground.

If it was just the rabbit by itself it might be a fun early game encounter, but this thing spawns 3 enforcer rabbits which eats through two football helmets and a marble armor, and if you manage to kill his enforcers, he will spawn 3 more before you can kill him.

Keep in mind that this content isn’t locked behind moon rifts or anything like that..

And a newbie player (who’s still discovering they can give items to stuff or bait rabbit traps with carrots) will definitely attempt to feed carrots to a rabbit hole like

”come here little rabbit here I have nice tasty carrots for you.”

If your playing on Xbox and have carrots in your inventory, there’s even now a brand new Dpad option to “give” them to holes in the ground- Making it impossible to Miss.

I feel I can safely say that the game is only getting easier if your veteran who knows every mobs Kiting pattern by heart & can kite them flawlessly without needing Armor.

For everyone else though…? They’re fooled into believing the illusions that the game is becoming a lot less uncompromising.
