This is bad game design.

Yeah. I do have hammers. It's unreal that you'd defend something that wastes your time for no reason. Name one good reason why this is good design.

Stop playing games especially sandboxes if u think that wasting time is a problem, thought that you maybe need a hammer is too hard to play?

Speak clearly and just say it's good game design. Tell me that something important would be lost if you could control the formation of the correct fuelweaver build.

Say it. Tell me I'm wrong and why.

Its 3 form variations are used by people as decorative elements.

Never seen a base using those as decorations tbh, but in that case they could be changed with clean sweeper.

Likewise is no biggie to reassemble it till getting the right one, hence I see no problem here.

Yes but it's just pointless, the only thing it brings is identifying the wrong skeleton early in the build and hammering it before full completion, which it could be kept for but idk, pointless waste of time somewhat outweighs this.

Check the major DST communities' Endless servers, especially the ones where people go for "mega-base" projects like (DST) Don't Fight. Also, even though I just "leech" skins off of Twitch with bg tabs, muted and on 160p, I still managed to see over time such decorative elements deployed on random streamers' vids. Depends where you dwell mostly; if you're into Survival more than Sandbox, more-so if done in "speed-run" manner, there is no wonder then. Still, yes, Clean Sweeper is a compromise. But myself am more bugged about the general "I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW" immediate gratification mentality of these things bearing its weight on games at large nowadays from people with 0 patience for anything.

PS: from these very forums, check next topic: Decorations, Shrines and Base Designs for designs incorporating Odd Skeletons.

Spoiler

No. The bs we have now nurtures addictive disorders because of the dopamine fluctuation of a extremely rudimentary and arbitrary task that requires 0 skill to get right or wrong.

You're gambling at that point and it's worse than having a predictable result for a mundane task.

Does anyone use fossils as decor on fuelweaver's arena? Like, I'm sure the original poster's problem isn't the fact that wrong skeletons exist, but the fact that you need to gamble to build the right skeleton when its sole purpose in that place is to summon a boss, not being kept around for decor.

Consider it the first phase of the battle. If you can't handle it you better run from the caves. You are supposed to go a little doolally down there, according to the theme.

Literally no one has ever considered the fight lost because of a wrong craft. it's not something that has a place in a boss battle.
