I've been slowly but surely trucking along at a base since, uh... a little drama, I think? It's not really done but here's a couple of my favorite builds, presented in the beautiful color filter of humid dusk:

Haven't been super keen on working on my old world but I had some things done in the past months.
Working on unique biomes was something that I always wanted to do, I'm glad DST got easy enough to shape the world to our liking now. Maybe sharing some of my builds will motivate me to work more on it.

My moonrock farm area and the lunar "spillage" around it.

The area around it is a biome overhaul that I called tallbirb forest.
It needs lots and lots more tallbirbs but damn is it a chore to take care of the little ones...

Maxxy log/living log farm, catapults hidden at the top to help with the treeguards, I can get up to 200 trees planted and chopped down in around 2-3 days, it's pretty efficient.

This was made in creative mode in an autumn-only dusk-only world for the -chef kiss- lighting.

I used the Midsummer Cawnival Plus mod for the night lights to automatically go on and stay on at dusk.

This is one of my favorite builds in my world.

(I centered this wormhole to be in the middle of a single turf/tile because honestly it annoys me otherwise)

Hey! Great builds <3 As for placements, it can be superrrr frustration. Unfortunately lot of trial and error needs to be done to figure those out. There have been so many times I've gotten super deep into a build and had to restart it simply because I've done the placements wrong lol. Walls and fences are my enemy with this! Yes, bushes and plants need to be placed first. Walls and fences almost always need to be placed last.

probably one of the builds I'm most proud of, and one of the only I ended up completing in this world.

I love the use of glommer's flower with the skin! The carrats as well! This looks amazing.

Yay, this topic is back and I am...JUST as flamingly jealous of all y'alls skill at both playing and decorating, yet again. Tons of stuff that requires ingredients I'm too lazy/bad at the game to get, and HOW do you get those beautiful, mystical, soft glowy LIGHTINGS...??? (I would assume mods, but so much stuff has been added to the game that I didn't keep track of, it might be something from normal game code, for all I know.)

I haven't built much since last time, but here're some old favourites, for old times' sake:

My "ruins". The story of MAKING these is actually kinda more epic than the ruins themselves (I kinda died. But got better). Later on, they got totally Reclaimed by Nature...JUST before the code was changed to now allow that anymore. But in this case, it fits the storyline perfectly.

So if you want a "less cheaty" way there is actually a mod that makes wormholes and sinkholes craftable! And you can change the "difficulty" level of these crafts as well.

If you are not above spawning them in with console commands, these are the steps!

How to Spawn Wormholes

  • Open up your console. The default key to open the console in-game on English keyboards is "~". 
  • Hover your curser over where you wish to spawn the wormholes! When you use the command, they will spawn directly where your curser points.

Tip: I like to hold a pitchfork with Geometric Placement enabled to get as close to accurate as possible with centering. 

  • Spawn wormhole 1 using this command:
     worm1 = c_spawn("wormhole")
  • Spawn wormhole 2 using this command:
    worm2 = c_spawn("wormhole")
  • Create connections forth, command:
     worm1.components.teleporter.targetTeleporter = worm2
  • And back, command:
     worm2.components.teleporter.targetTeleporter = worm1

Note: Each wormhole you add in your world will have to be a pair of an even and odd number, in ascending order. So if you already have a worm1 and worm2, the next pair will be worm3 and worm4, etc...
