Got a spooky base you want to share? Are you dressing up as something from the Constant for Halloween? Just want to draw something to celebrate the season?

Please feel free to share here. We want to see it!

If you see a submission you like, react with a Spooky pumpkin!

Been working on a little Graveyard Garden with some buddies... there's a Woodie, Wolfgang, Wicker, Wortox, Wormwood, and Wanda (be we forgot that Wanda doesn't leave skeleton so we did a little redo with Maxwell). See if you can figure out which grave belongs to which character...

Happy Hallowed Nights Everyone!

To be fair, mine wasn't hand-drawn at all. It's from the Sims 3. I made the Sims themselves and the house, but I didn't DRAW any of it. :P

Here's some more Halloweeny Don't Starve stuff I didn't actually draw!

Willow as a Creepy Doll, kinda inspired by that one skin set.

Wendy as a Dark Magical Girl. This kind of look just WORKS on her.

A black-and-white shot of the (in-progress) Halloween 2020 camp, with Witch Charlie being menaced by..her own shadow hands.
wait.

Finally, Wendy gives in to her inner Ophelia and goes full creepy flower-girl.

As I understand it, the main problem was people posting AI art and not SAYING it was AI-generated; that it was made by themselves.

Just Mactusk said right from the get-go that it would be AI art, so...instead of stealing, it'd be more like an experiment? "I wondered what an AI would do with a Don't Starve + Halloween related prompt, so let's find out" kinda deal? I dunno. But I think it's morally a bit different if you're NOT trying to claim it as your own work.

Fair point, but the thread is asking for actual art

Weeeelll...I guess I'm screwed then, 'cos right in this very thread I've posted five things that aren't my actual art. (Sims 3, two dollmaker programs, and two actual DST screenshots, one of which had mods active.)

...but this time it isn't a contest with an actual prize, and several people (including Joe himself) seem to be okay with them, so...

I guess I'm saying it's more okay if it isn't a contest with a prize AND you tell people ahead of time? (shrug)

Edit: To be fair, what I posted here isn't quite the same as AI "generated" art--the template art was made by somebody else, but choices, customization, building things in a certain way/places, picking the right lighting, etc. was done by me. SOME effort was put in. It's just that I didn't, say, 3D-render the original Sims graphics, myself.

Out of question, is it alright if I post a bit of AI art?

Of course it's alright, look.

1-Asked for a horror movie
2-asked for a halloween poster
3-asked for a monster in the DS Art-Style

Only thing is Don't Starve is not very popular; it's impossible to get the AI to draw the characters. The only thing that gets right is the forest as background. It's Microsoft's Bing image creator, so maybe with something stronger and specialized it could make something actually Don't Starve.

And that's the difference. It's like photography. You don't create reality, but you choose which part of it to capture, from which point of view, how to arrange and frame it all, and thus convey your idea. When you give a prompt to the generator, you don't even see which parts it will use to make up the result (like with dollmakers). You don't participate in the process in any way, except to give it the words, hope that it will recognize them and then give you something at least half decent. It's not even about effort, it's just much less intention on your part. There is a difference between using pre-made elements to arrange them in a way that reflects your honest idea, and asking for something completely random with only a distant link to your request and saying "eh, it will do", then it's somewhat okay to look at.
