Mike23Ua Posted January 12, 2023 Share Posted January 12, 2023 Considering previous year of events have added permanent new feature for the highlighted mob in question Example: Year of the Beefalo added easier taming of Beefalo and cute little outfits you can decorate them in with the grooming station, and the Beefalo Bell which allows your Beefalo to travel into/out of caves with you and log off the server with you. Those are permanent editions that went alongside the limited time dress up and judging contest. Year of the Catcoon- Which made it so that if Catcoon dens get burned or destroyed new ones will Respawn after so many days in the biome guaranteeing that they can never fully perish, and they added the feature to rummage through Catcoon dens to retrieve items the adorable fuzzballs have gathered. <3 (this feature seems broken on Xbox right now, cause every time I rummage I come up with Ziltch!) In addition to the limited time hide n seek with the baby Kitcoons. My point is that the Year of Events have been adding permanent new content changes instead of JUST a dumb limited time event. I fully expect Year of the Rabbit to be the same way, maybe they’ll update Rabbits A.I. so they can dig into the ground and pop up in another location similar to Weevole from Hamlet DLC. or they’ll add permanent new “Siege” mechanics where the rabbits attempt to “Raid” your farms. Or perhaps they will add new types of Traps for catching Rabbits or update Bunnymen A.I. Whatever the limited time event adds, will likely also introduce some permanent gameplay changes. (also do keep in mind you can toggle back on those limited time events at any time now, so NOW even limited time content is permanent..) That seems to be the recent theme with the small creatures in these events; carrats as pets, catcoons as pets, and maybe now rabbits as pets. I was playing Solo DS yesterday in the Hamlet DLC when it occurred to me that the player does ALOT of going into/out of instances (jungle temples, mant hills, pig village shops etc..) Now I don’t want to set anyones hopes too high but I’d like to think there’s a very specific reason they want this particular thing stress tested. As far as it’s connection to the Year of update.. I don’t know, maybe we can go into/out of the Bunnymen hutches? Now regarding the shards: we do have portals we cannot cross at the moment. At least one of them should be accessible this year, and since its in the caves, it's likely they need to make things smoother. Now the question is... are we getting a 3rd server/shard? A shard is like an entirely separate server that's connected to another server via cave entrances/exits, while interiors in Hamlet are more like... imagine there's a box in the very very corner of Hamlet's map, out in the clouds where you can't access it. That box is a part of the main Hamlet world and there's no going between worlds or "servers" involved, the game simply remembers the contents of every room and then swaps out what's inside that box accordingly. If you enter a mant hill, you're just going to that box in the corner, and if you go to another room in that mant hill you're just telling the game to swap the contents of that box from room 1 to room 2 to room 3 and so on. I dunno ever since wendys Alice in Wonderland Quote I’ve always wanted them to give the Bunnymen a “down the rabbit hole” update. Basically the TL:DR- Turn Bunnymen hutch’s into Mant Dens with explorable rooms and the likes. In multiplayer the contents of the boxes can’t be swapped out, so you’d need to have several boxes all scattered somewhere beyond reach either off the map on the surface (if Rabbit Hole) or off the map in the Caves (if Bunnymen hutch) All of this is highly unlikely to happen.. but I just felt like a Year of the Rabbit should include going down the rabbit hole.
