Birdcage OP

Birdcage is now most OP thing in whole game. Give 3 monster meat to caged bird you will get 3 eggs add 1 monster meat to that and you have meat balls. There is no limit of meat bird will accept, bird will give eggs in every season, every day. Now you can just live farming some spiders at dusk, and trade some of monster meat for eggs.Needs some limit to this madness.

Like what? Ten eggs before you have to replace the bird? One egg per cage a day so you have to build a cage array?Edit: Do not forget eggs have another use besides filling recipes.

Lol. You don't see this as OP thing?This is broken. Maybe like pigs with veggies but faster and for longer periods of time. Building more than 1 birdcage is not hard in game on default settings, but I play on modded very low resource map, managed to build 1 birdcage on second summer, and it brakes the whole game, there is no way I will starve now, all food problems ended with single birdcage. Its so broken.

Nope. Not at all. If that's OP, I'd not like to see what you think about Rabbits, seeing as all you have to do to catch them is place a trap over their burrow. Do that four times a day (hint, very very very easy) and you have meatballs! OH GAWD! OP! NERF RABBITS!11!!Whilst I type that with heavy overlays of sarcasm, I hope you can see that I'm still being serious about that example. Hunting monsters is dangerous, and a pain in the ass, that's what makes the Birdcage not OP as it's a million times easier to simply catch a few rabbits.

For rabbits you must sacrifice resources and time to get them and they spawn 1 per day, not really effective or OP. Monster meat just comes to you at dusk, you don't have to anything. I have tons of monster meat, from hound, spiders and what not. Birdcage is broken. Not the first time here when I see people don't like to play survival game, they just want unbalanced building bases with carpets and what not.

Hmm... Instead of changing this mechanics you could make two types of eggs: the ones from monster meat will make monster lasagna if used with monster meat or another monster egg. It will even add possibilities for hatching the monster eggs for some random evil creatures.But the easiest way I see is to make the bird lay rotten eggs that cannot be used in any recipe at all. In other words: cage bird eggs are not fillers anymore.And yes. I do not see it as broken. I have plenty of ways to survive without the bird cage. I am playing a sandbox world and have so many other ways to manage hunger. It is fine as intended. Survival is fine. It is not supposed to be the greatest challenge in the game. You are wasting your talents in survival. Enter the doorway and use them there.

Catching Rabbits! The what-you-need-guide!: (I can catch several from the same trap per day, I can even gather up to ten morsels a day with no effort whatsoever)

Place one trap, no danger no resources used: 1 Rabbit Morsel (100%)

or;

Craft all that ****, use all those resources, instigate battles with dangerous beings: 33.3% (guess, no idea) to drop Monster meat.

yea pokey is right you can farm rabbits easy with traps and every day get 12 rabits and have 3 bee boxes and never could starve then you have endless honey nuggets or you could have 10 drying racks and 6 crock pots and then food never spoils while its not harvested. wait you can do that with farm plots !!!! and its then becomes a large reserve of food that can be drawn on when you need it during the winter. omg winter means nothing but more tastey deerclops eyes and shant o tantersand what of the butterflies ?!?! better than healing salve and never starts to spoil unless you kill them and fill you up . its a supper food i guessand those tall birds are tastey and always respawn . beefaloo can die out but tall birds always come back and you can stun lock them and win without being hit and thats 2 meat not morsels but meatoh and lets not forget the endless battle between tentacle monsters and merman thats right while they fight they leave in there wake piles of frog legs fish and spike tentacle sticks you dont have to do anything but wander and collect its free foodnerf it awl cuz nobodies spose to be able to complete the game

Pff! What were the developers even thinking putting any food in this game? How is this a survival game if there's food in it, food.

For the love of Jebus, Devs, you must remove this OP food thing before it's too late! The game is ruined and full of noobs because of it

Cool story. I play on low resource map, you can run out of twigs and grass, you don't have enough to make traps over and over. Birdcage is eternal, and you get monster meat for killing every crap in this game, you can harvest spiders with traps without any risk at all if you have resources to do that. There is tons of food sources in this game and last thing it needs is trading monster meat for eggs without any limits. I will mod that stupid birdcage, its pointless to explain how broken birdcage is to people who play on default settings. Close this thread.

and why exactly should anyone bother to harvest spiders for their monster meat and then trade it to a bird in the birdcage to get an egg to make meatballs if he could just catch a rabbit with a trap?Not saying you are wrong...ish, having the birdcage beeing able to make a "good" food item out of monster meat is indeed a bit weird, since every other food item you can make out of monster meat is still "bad", like cooked monster meat, monster jerky, monster lasagna......but crying about the birdcage beeing the "most OP item in game"... really? there are a dozen way more conveniend ways to get food.

Simple fact you are missing is that after building single birdcage you don't need to seek any other fillers, and you will never run out of monster meat, but I guess that fact is hard to understand. Spiders are so easy to kill and you can plant some nests near your base so they will wander to your camp whole dusk and night. Rabbits are scattered trough the map and you can't move them where you need them, it takes time to travel and resources to make traps.Spider nest + birdcage = infinite meat balls, and silk + some healing items. Its broken.You can't count cost of alchemy engine, you will build it anyway. At some point in game you will build birdcage anyway, to get seeds you want or just for looks.You will get all resources needed to build birdcage while simply exploring the map. You clear spider dens, and spider queens anyway, so you will have spider eggs at some point. While other filler sources like berries and farms will end with summer, you can always get monster meat.

The birdcage is pretty OP if only due to the fact that eggs can be used in the meat balls recipe I think they should change it so that they cant be used for said resipy (maybe eggs should have its own recipe set as we have tallbird eggs and normal eggs now)However I wish for all people to stop insulting each other Q has his own opinions on the game as other people do theirs.

I declared the birdcage OP like 4 patches ago when all it did was turn one vegetable into 2-3 seeds. The result was infinite dragon pies which was way beyond over powered.I haven't built one since and it seems to have gotten worse.
