I don't know whether OP is a modder, but the claim that Klei doesn't care about their modders is false. If the past hasn't been evidence enough, we're literally in a beta where Klei put in effort to avoid breaking mods at the cost of code clarity when they could have easily killed or crippled hundreds of them and moved on.

As far as I'm aware, the Myth Words team (the most notorious offender) would consistently try whatever they could to make a buck, regardless of Klei's warnings or copyright. They were pretty much asking for this to happen.

On one hand, from what I've tested over time, I can say with confidence Myth Worlds mod is probably the best DST mod in Steam Workshop from art side of things (very in-tune with DST burtonian-yet-"orientalized" style, nicely "texturized" and fine shading - not forgetting their presentation videos, quite frankly superior in quality to many of the official KLei trailers, best negative example being Woodie's rework one), to preset details and rather bug-free code, not generating crashes even in combination with other mods (for example, was fully compatible with [DST] Legion, another "rare gem" from fine art, complexity and utility pov).

On the other hand, according to KLei's - and I believe Steam's - TOS policy, they were breaking established rules, rightly-so in line for penalties.

If I remember well, Myth team announced mod's retirement from Steam Workshop after KLei made a statement regarding 3rd party in-game monetization schemes (respectively modded skins selling). It's a shame quite an exceptional mod (relative to general DST Workshop standards) will be nixed, but such are the rules and repercussions. Myth team could've tried asking for donations (including via Indiegogo/GoFundMe/and-the-like sites, if they can be accessed from China) and making "SuperChat" streams if Bilibili has such features too - and still get remuneration for their fine job. Part of me, based on their talent and dedication, would've wanted to see a partnership between this team and KLei. Still Myth devs chose to defy TOS and push their own shenanigans.

Takes some serious balls to come on here complaining about Klei taking away your free skins mod.

If you knew anything about this community you would know that Klei gives modding developers an incredible amount of support, IMO much more than a game developer would ever be expected to provide. But at the end of the day it is their IP and insisting on the right of any third party to monetize Klei's copyrighted property is a showcase of ignorance.

And saying that Klei doesn't care about modders because they shut down mods that unlock paid skins is absurdly childish.
