  1. 1. Which of these things do you find annoying and bad for the game?

    • Every boss dropping 47 blueprints, sketches, recipes etc.
      37
    • Every character having new meter/crafting tab
      62
    • New content which makes old one obsolete
      44
    • Certain items staying locked behind crafting stations
      13
    • Items in incorrect crafting stations
      44
    • None (oops, forgot about this one)

Honestly, character crafting tab/meter hate seems to me like a meme that some people took seriously. It's quite unreasonable. If there are more than 1-2 character specific crafts, it makes sense to put them in a separate tab for easy access. If there is a numerical value that can change in a certain range, a visible meter makes it much easier to track. If Klei removed meters for hunger, hp and sanity, those same haters would blow up the forums with their complaints about game being too hard and unintuitive. This is just people blindly following the crowd, "if everyone hates it, then I should too". Except the original hate was almost certainly a joke.

I guess it's a little annoying to have to burn extra sketches, but i really don't mind the drops too badly. most of the stuff on this list doesn't bother me much. And like someone else said about the meters, they're helpful and over-complained about.

Exactly :wickerbottomthanks:

I like that everyone gets crafting tabs because it lets me joke about how everyone gets crafting tabs. I used to also be able to joke about how everyone uses nitre in their character specific crafts but they stopped doing that so legally speaking I'm no longer able to make those jokes.

I dread the day when every character gets reworked and they're done doing them. I won't be able to speculate about how their reworks will include a new crafting tab any more!

Brother don’t you see the bigger picture? That’s what Re-Reworks & Sequels are for! The speculation of crafting tabs will never end because Klei can just add a new update with a new crafting station that from that crafting station… players can unlock new exclusive crafts to them.

It was advertised and sold to me as a Survival Crafting Game where I could Explore Randomly Generated worlds full of things that hate me & want me to die.

I may be in the minority but I ENJOY that my Survival Crafting Game is getting more Crafting Tabs.. I also would not be opposed to characters who DON’T have their own Tabs but have exclusive Crafts: Getting their items Relocated to an exclusive tab.

And just think: When they do a DST 2 we can get even MORE abilities and craftables (no I’m not joking.. yes I really want this)

I think Wortox having an exclusive crafting Tab would be neat too.. only if it gave him deeper gameplay/lore.

The only thing that annoys me is middle-crafting items like Electrical Doodads.  If the middle craft only has 1 final craft it feels like its just a step in the way, and if the final craft includes more of the materials used in the middle craft like...  WHY?  If you want 6 gold and 3 stone you can tell me.  Crafting that stone into cut stone?  Okay, but then that cut stone into a doodad and MORE gold?  ugh...  And the malbatross sail like, the feathery canvass does 1 thing.  Either just let me craft the sail or come out with another use for the canvass.

I think part of the reason for these intermediate crafts is due to the HUD being limited to 3 different ingredients per recipe. Like the Malbatross sail would require Driftwood Logs, Ropes, Malbatross Feather and Silk to craft if there was no Feathery Canvas, and that would make the ingredient icons "overflow" out of the frame.

Interesting, I didn't consider such a limitation.

-New content vs old content- best example: moon glass farming. In Turn of Tides Klei introduced bath bombs, a very inefficient way to renew moon glass. And so in Forgotten Knowledge they've added Lunar Grotto, a much better way to farm glass, so much so that bath bombs are now useless. And now even CC acts as a better source of moon glass. Too bad that there are barely any uses for it since luanr altars were treated just as a step to the CC fight

You can use bath bombs for a guaranteed dragon fruit year-round. Pretty niche but valid use. One thing that is completely obsolete now (in my opinion) is the Pick/Axe. It used to be the only way to get a faster chopping speed, but with moon glass axes why would you ever make one.

also I hate hate HATE how you need to fish for:

  1. chance at crumpled package
  2. chance at blueprint
  3. chance it's 1/2 of the relevant blueprints

before you can talk to the antlion

they could fix that... Its disturbing when mod recipes have 4 ingerdients and simply dont fit...

The real thing that annoys me is the fact they drop story arcs before finishing them.  Primarily the gateway arc.

Now that a Wagstaff Arc seems to be possible (gear + wire in roadmap 2022 image) if they drop that midway I'm gonna be pissed.

Whenever they finish a story arc and move on to the next one. They always seem to think that the players have already understood everything about the arc of the last story, burying more new secrets in the new story arc and seldom reveal the original clues. As a result, there are more and more things that have not been explained. One secret is based on another secret, and there is often not much connection between them. After the Gateway arc is abandoned, it has accumulated a little bit of Tiresome. For example, we still don’t know what happened to the picture of Maxwell and Charlie in his apartment. Another example is that we haven't figured out the secrets of ancient civilizations, and now we have a new ancient ancient civilization with new secret lore. There are so many things that just get buried and never talked about again.

During this period of time, there have been more and more discussions about whether something is a drawing error or an omission in an adaptation (such as the full moon and the ancient moon statue). I think this is actually a manifestation of people starting to lose confidence in the lore of this game.
