Potatoism Posted December 23, 2021 Share Posted December 23, 2021 The forge was a cool idea, and i think it could be more manageable, but im dumb and probaly wrong. The forge was a pretty cool place, it even had its own lore that went further than the event, it went to Dont Starve Together, with the "nox" being mentioned a few times (like a ox, but not) i bet it was brought to extinction hahahahah, but anyways the Forge was challenging (from what ive heard) but the once a time event thing isnt the best idea, maybe a little longer. Got to play Gorge on ps4 and loved it, I know it's super unlikely to ever come back but I'd love to get all the achievements I didn't get and get to experience it again. Forge looks awesome too but I never tried it. luvu2bits Posted December 23, 2021 Share Posted December 23, 2021 As someone who never played Forge 1, but played Gorge and Forge 2, Gorge is better than people give it credit for. It may be "cooking simulator in a basic game" but it was a really fun game of teamwork and management. To this day I don't think I've ever worked together with other players in this game in such an engaging and efficient way than I did with my old Gorge team. I preferred it to Forge, but both are really good. I agree that Forge (AND Gorge) should be added back to the game as a gamemode you can run on your own client, but that isn't as quick and easy as it sounds. Even if they weren't to do all that server hosting stuff and maintenance, they'd still need to update it and squish bugs and all that. They should get to it when they get to it. They work on a LOT. Maybe when those refreshes are done that time they'd normally use on them will become more flexible. For now, if you're on PC, the ReForged and ReGorgitated mods are really good. The developers put in a lot of work to both port, improve, and build upon the original events. Of course, console players are much less fortunate... Forge had some really cool looking mobs (from what I could find out about it online) so why not just incorporate those into the base game somewhere and just call it a day? I mean there’s a Mini-Game where you can trade pig king a championship belt and get smacked around by a few pigs carrying large wooden signs for a few minutes. Or Summon Curio Collector and allow him to judge your Beefalos, Or Create an entire themed Carnival for Corvius Goodfeather. Klei has the Technology to add a forge inspired area permanently into the game… without actually needing to bring the old events back.
