Wolfgang Feedback

I really hope the devs see this.

So for Wolfgang initially I felt dread at the "Tedious" nature of the rework. Now I see it to be statistically better, but lacking the feelings of a good rework. I have what id consider a good compromise.

First I'd make mighty meter NOT drain while chopping trees and mining rocks, we really don't want it to be tedious.

Secondly and more importantly, I'd allow Wolfgang to over eat to convert a ratio of hunger to mighty points. It could be over time to so you get the benefits WHILE playing.

My biggest worry with the rework is that constantly stopping to work out will be more tedious than fun, if overeating still existed as both a call back and a way to avoid or shorten the lifting mini game I think everyone would be satisfied.

I could also be a big dummy, I just really like Wolfgang and want to see him be great instead of "tedious but good".

I think they specifically want to move away from wolf having an incentive to raid the server’s fridge though. Like they removed wes’s hunger drain too. 

Deliberately rewarding overeating would be even worse than the previous x3 drain if the objective is keeping food in the fridge for others. 

Freezing mightiness while laboring sounds really appropriate though.

More like it would break the character, keeping the speed buff on top of having consistent 2X dmg, and no penalty for either Piggy Back or Marble armor would be too much.

cool basically remove the last 2 things because they don't incentivize anything and his speed would already counteract piggy back downgrade and make it so going wimpy decreases speed would actually make it useful to always carry a dumbell

They do, one makes Wolfgang a lot tankier than other characters without penalty and the other gives him free space that the others have to sacrifice speed to have.

negating a speed decrease from the marble suit doesn't incentivize tanking and ive already told you the other one was already a thing

My "bs" balance is crap and arrogant?! or ignorant whichever you meant. Yes it was pretty impolite Mr meta snob.
I'm not the only one that think that his speedboost was too much. Looks like the devs also agree with me on that heh! And trust me they know the intricacies of their game better than me and you. How can you be so arrogant to think there is nothing to this idea (see the irony)?!

You must be emotionally involved :L Ya liked to be Op with Wolfgang I get it. Do you also secretly wish his rework to make him even stronger and faster, ohh imagine that!? Srry for the personal attack defense; thats t-i-t for tat for you.
I don't want to get into the whole why it that Wolfy is too op cuz it's a very old topic, but tldr; speed + dmg + less resources spent on weapons is just too good for the little to no downsides he has; cmon, food drainage and sanity... 

He is still a quite fast character considering some of the best items affect negatively your speed. Piggyback and marble suits were not greatly used before; less kiting more tanking. Super cool I'd say.

It incentivizes tanking because tanking is much more appealing now that the marble suit is much better as Wolfgang. This is basic line of reasoning.

 
Also, please try to be more respectful and mature in your posts, I understand you are very, very passionate when it comes to Wolfgang’s speed, but claiming someone who supports the removal of Wolfgang’s speed has “bs arrogant balance” is crossing the line

i don't get your point on how it still incentivizes tanking speed removal should incentivize kiting and if you're kiting you don't have too much of a use to such a high protecting armor and yes i will try to be more respectful its just annoying for people who won't ever play wolfgang happy to see him fall into an even more boring character

i don't care how op he is or ever was its just that this update made it so much less fun to be him because his perks are being ignored most of the time and it makes no sense to remove his biggest perk while giving something that was already a perk for old wolfgang and pass it on as new. I don't dislike balance because i want wolfgang to still be op i dislike balance because when its used on a character who was already balanced in the first place and just ended up making them even less fun it fixes no problems for anyone except people who just want wolfgang to be bad because they see everyone call him op

See like, and this isn't directed toward you especially, its also quite an opinionated claim so feel free to disagree, but it seems to me that a lot of Wolfgang players (not all) are the type of gamers that seek the best thing in a game and stick with it; the ones that play the same 3 best meta guns in Call of Duty and never touch the rest for example.

Still an opinion, but there should be more to a choice of character in a game like Dst. Its a coop game, no MLG here.

Isnt that a problem though lol. A rework shouldnt make current characters players not want to play them. Imagine you not liking the Wendy rework and  someone said this to you.

How is having extra speed considered being “good” at kiting? I’m pretty sure if Wendy or Wilson had that extra speed they would be just as good at kiting to, you really have no understanding of just how powerful of a perk being able to move faster is do you? I won’t argue with you about it: I’ll just say it’s a good thing that it’s removed from Wolfgang while in Combat.

Outside of Combat.. doing things like carrying heavy items, he should rightfully be faster then someone who looks like they’re about to collapse of exhaustion and be crushed by whatever heavy thing they have on their back.

Gonna play devil's advocate once more but why is this a problem people have fun in different ways and this just comes off as bashing people who don't like to play the same way as others.

There are a lot of Wendy players who weren’t happy with her rework, the first concept didn’t fit her at all so they repurposed that glass canon mechanic onto Wanda. Some people don’t even like the Find lost stuffs Pipspook Mini-Game, but Klei can’t please everyone..

The only way they could is if they made a world Gen setting for “Classic” which makes Biomes, Mobs and character abilities all revert back to PRE Return of Them updates (with the cardboard cutout ocean and all) and “Together” world Gen options for the Newer content and Character reworks.

Klei can never possibly satisfy everyone: but what they do have is statistics- If More people start playing Wolfgang and more importantly buying Wolfgang cosmetics after this rework then the people who were playing him who now admit they will just play Wanda instead…. then the rework is a MASSIVE Success more people play him, Klei makes profits.

I also find the whole “I’ll just play Wanda instead” posts hilarious (sorry I gotta say it) the difference between Wolfgang and Wanda Pre-Rework: Wolfgang got healing, speed and damage from eating Pierogi..

WANDA had to EARN her power with really expensive craftables, your upset that Wolfgang’s Craftables are now equally as expensive to achieve: But yet you go on to say you’ll just play Wanda

Goes without saying that Wanda cant even heal without her clocks, which is a huge downside, specially since she loses HP over time

Yes yes it doesnt really matter for Dst. Even if Wolfy was 4 times stronger than Wilson, I would still do my own thing. In competitive games, the balance is more important. Taking CoD as example again, you just can't play succesfully with a B tiers weapon without getting dunk on by players with S tier guns. What do you do to have a chance then? you grab that pesky S tier weapon and now every single players ends up playing that one single gun while there is a total of 45 to play with. Personally, I find it sad, hence why I think balancing a game is super duper important. I would bash on those CoD players I must say, but it would not be right on Dst I think.

I don't want to bash Wolfgang players per say. Those who like Wolfy for more than just him being the best at killing stuff are gonna stick with him even if he loses the speedbuff. Those who like him because he's the best, well they are gonna skip to the next best thing (Wanda right?) and no hard feeling; just like when the gun meta changes in CoD.

...But, idk should Klei really listens to those who want the game to have overpowered stuff?
