That's the thing tho, does it have to be 2x damage? Why can't it be 1.5x, something more reasonable. Why not other combat buffs like how wigfrid is split into inspiration, life leech, resistance and damage?
It's also less about being just strong alone, but not needing the others as much. Wolfgang can hold his own a little too well.

I don't have the most hours with 600 hours in this game, but I started out playing wolfgang; and it just feels like a huge shortcut now when I'm more used to characters like Wurt, Warly, Maxwell, Woodie, even wes, etc. If anything I expected a damage downgrade, but they're making it even easier to maintain the full extend of damage, and complete fights in less hits.

Everyone can hold their own, it's the knowledge of how the game works that people survive, look at wigfrid and Wendy that are often used as a crutch to new players that's why they are seen so often.

With 600 hours I hope you would do better with Wolfgang, he's meant to do better when you maintain him.

why woodie has aoe damage when wilson needs to kill spider by spider, why maxwell can chop like 3 players when wilson needs a lot of time to mine them or why wes is so uneffective when wilson can do things better? to give variety which is what makes this game fresh even after stupid amounts of hours

Wigfrid is 1.25x tho?

yes and for that a character based in raw damage should give more damage than just few points more than wigfrid which is suppose to be a warrior support if we define them like rpg games

I never stated I didn't do badly with wolfgang? Again, he's easy. Like one of the things I used to do before was the exact thing I find so lame now. Namely crafting a spear from the nearest flint and science station, munching carrots, and killing the nearest goose (if I joined in spring, for example). As warly I'd have to worry about at the very least, spending more time cooking first. And warly is the very definition of a high maintenance character where you need to know how to make a wide variety of dishes. (Especially if you don't have big meat).

Combining strongman with a circus performance act and gaining 3x mighty or something idk.

Would be a fun little minigame if they implemented it like the strength gym, were you'd have to do a skillcheck and hit at the right time, or the dumbells come down and they all hit you on the head doing 10 damage per dumbell

Wilson's entire schtick is being useless though, so people can experience the game like it was meant to be played in the original? And you can provide variety without it 2-3 times as easy as another character. Especially when it comes to super universal traits like combat. Heck, it used to be the same for food too, so webber was insanely good. But nowadays food is much easier to get.

Then don't play Wolfgang.  If you think he needs to have higher maintenance for his buffs than give some ways you think that can happen without just completely gimping what made Wolfgang WOLFGANG.

Warly is....... warly he has his crockpot to mitigate his downside, not knowing how to make crockpot recipes is the fault of the player not warly.

Keep that mentality you have with Wilson and apply it to other characters and you'll have more people on your side.

I saw a circus act of a strongman juggling 3 huge tires so they can do it.

Could be a nother mini-game type thing where he drops them he gets hurt

Im against mini games but i see this as a waay better idea than the gym. At least there is some risk reward for screwing up and it wouldnt be tied to a structure.

and that is good, i used wolfgang to learn how to defeat the bosses by my own so new i can enjoy fighting them as any character, or i used wigfrid to be able to survive an entire year back in the day when RoG was released or how i played wx to learn what are the ruins and how to farm there because of his stupid perk (that honestly i think should changed into a more interesting and less toxic thing)

klei releases easy and harder characters so we can have relaxed or harder experience for whatever reason

Not useless but a blank slate, which is nice if you don't want the stresses of a downside and want to play casually or just want to experience the game as it was

Can please you quote more of the messages so people can actually still see the context it was placed in? Like I know you can click the thing to go to the quoted message, but still.

And useless more as in wilson doesn't bring anything to the table. I like that he's there, but he's not really someone you can use to compare character perks all that much, considering he doesn't really have any of significance.

His significance is that he is basic he was just like Wes. He existed to flex on every other survivor with style points, to show that if he can do just as well, he doesn't need all these quirks and perks.

Nobody needs to be special in this game but thats what allows variety and fun

I think Wilson is just there to set the bottom line of what a basic character is, still alright to play him and he just sets an example of what the "normal" hp or damage or workspeed of a character is.

Which is basically what I said earlier about him anyways. I did formulate it as a question I guess.

For the people saying they would take a reduction in damage from the MIGHTY Wolfgang if they can have back his Speed.. can I ask you if you even wanted to BE Mighty.. or did you just want to Go Fast?

I keep bringing this up because: Stripping Wolfgang of his role of being the Mightiest (there is no mightier) Would absolutely Destroy his identity and personality even MORE then taking away his speed & 3x Hunger drain already has.

Wolfgang SHOULD Be Mighty, that’s his Thing… and he should always be the Best Choice for tackling the games Boss fights.. but what he should NEVER do is have his Might removed from the game in favor of Vrrrroooooooommm go fast.

At that point: You might as Well just play Wes, Wormwood or WX78.

If the current damage was deemed too powerful, there is some wiggle room there that would still let him keep his identity as the mightiest character
