Hey everyone! Another patch with some minor improvements in it for the testing branch.

We're planning to put these fixes live on the main branch Tuesday May 5th!

Fixes and Improvements

  • Remove duplicate "Tutorial: Scheduling" entry from the codex
  • Fix typo in Pip codex entry
  • Weight plates now properly detect when an element solidifies directly on top of them
  • Fix crash when creature dies while it's laying an egg
    • Also cleanup the inactive egg left in the scene
  • Fix old hack that had sweepers always drop their contents on load. This was to stop them from putting their current contents into an unrelated fetch. Now the arm drops everything only if its new fetch doesn't match the current request

Optimizations

  • Slight improvement to the speed of the algorithm for fetch errands
  • Slight improvement to the speed of data lookup for fetch errands

How about a somewhat similar bug:

The bug report uses the latest preview build, but it's been around forever. Makes harvesting volcano heat convoluted and annoying.

Too easy. It trivializes what ought to be somewhat challenging.

Plus fixing bugs in the simulation is just the right thing to do. It shows up elsewhere after all.

There is a mod in the workshop that "fixes" that bug, i used quotes here because i have never tested it if it worked as intended, but holly crap that mod was the biggest hit my game has got on performance to date. Maybe there is no easy way to fix that.

But i don't find it easy to lose heat that way, i find it wasteful instead.

A hojillion internet points for you. At a casual glance, the mod fixes the bug. Can't speak to a performance hit at this time, but I'll play around with it a bit. The mod has been around since at least October, dunno how I missed it all this time.

Thanks

And a link for anyone who wants to try it.
