I don't think so. 1-Merms drops frog legs like actual frogs and merms ignores frogs' demonic presence. 2-Wurt's quotes implies that she likes them like they were some kind of innocent creature and there's an actual official piece of art which consists in Wurt sitting next to frogs while reading a book. Therefore if they are supposed to be agressive,this means Wurt is canonically dead. Shame on you. Mrklli Posted November 10, 2019 Share Posted November 10, 2019 I don't know how it's supposed to be but this just makes me think about some people who like to keep potentially dangerous animals as pets. Like some spiders and snakes etc are poisonous and they could harm you if you don't handle them properly, heck even a dog could bite and kill you, but still people think they're cute and want to keep them in their homes. Maybe frogs and merms are similar to that? Merms think they're cute and the adults even keep them as pets (drop froglegs when killed) like Wurt carries fish, but still the frogs will attack them if for some reason they get pissed off? It would still be really cool if frogs were neutral towards Wurt or if she could even befriend them. I believe most of these quotes are used before they know a frog's real behavior(assuming you aren't examining them while being attacked or after running away from them) You know,just to sound a little bit comedic when a cute little innocent looking frog is agressive af. Also Wilson and Wolfgang don't really mind when a frog gets killed unlike Wurt and Wortox,but i think Wortox feels guilty mostly for stealing it's soul. Frogs have a sleeping animation but they only use it when they're forced to sleep with a Pan-flute or similiar tools. Frogs don't move at night. Despise not draining a player's sanity in-game,getting hit by their attacks causes sanity drain in real life. Frogs don't eat in-game due to the fact that their food source is fear,desperation and pain from living beings. Frogs are criminals according to Wagstaff a.k.a Albert Einstein.(DS ONLY) Frogs can be caught in traps and this forces them to use their home-made portal devices resulting in them leaving their legs behind. Yeah I’m well aware that DST and Griftlands is NOT Pokemon, but you’d have to be blind not to think that they all don’t look like stages of Evolution from the basic frog. I always assumed Merms were some sort of half fish Half Frog hybrid, which until Wurt was released.. was the only logical way I could explain why they dropped frog legs and fish when killed. Also she points out that Toadstool has a pretty face but a bad personality something that she doesn't accuse other frogs of. I think they just did like Dragonfly and took the name Bullfrog literally and made it a mix between a bull and a frog. Just a little theory lmao.
