New idea for the game

Recommended Posts

I played DST a long time with my friends, and lately we started to notice the
game that is a bit "too easy", because when it joins a lot of people, some 3, 4 people
, the game wanting or not is very easy, and talking to one of my friends, we had an idea
for the game that would implement something new, but also, it would make the game a
little more difficult, would have to use more logic than simply going out to get everything
you want and come back where we set up the "camp". Conversation comes, conversation
goes, we had the following idea of introducing a weight system within the game, that is, the
characters would have a weight limit to load some items (this already with the slots that come
with them), and to helping in this, backpack would also help carry more things, but with a limit as well.
Ex: Wendy, would normally carry 30kg, and the backpack would help her carry another
10kg, totaling 40kg she could carry, if she exceeded that limit, she would be very slow. The chest too,
would have a weight limit that would help carry some things.
Each character with a "x" limit of KG. You could also bring some more items to help with this, or even
some new character that could carry more weight than normal to help with this adventure. Maybe an exclusive DST.
It is a system that can be perfected by studying it as well.
It is an idea that if it were introduced to the game, it would be very cool, and also making it a bit difficult,
since when there is a lot of people in the same world, it is very easy.
Another thing also, there could be more BOSS inside the game, I do not know, something of a Stone Golem,
some other type of boss. It is another possibility to be studied also in the future.

I would like you to treat this message with care. I like the game very much, I play practically every day and can
not be annoying, it's very good.

Thank you.

How would this make the game more 'difficult'? How would this make the game harder, in your opinion?

Because to me, that'd just make the game unfun and tedious. You need alot of gold early on. Gold weights a crap ton in real life, not to mention all the rocks you'd need early on for alchemy engine, crockpots and whatnot. You'd be over encumbured day one, before you'd even gotten any saplings, tested any wormholes or let alone found a base location.

This might work out if you have friends to play with, where you can asign roles and stuff. But some of us don't have friends to play with, and have to get all the essentials at once.

It's already annoying in Skyrim. Where you can run around freely in the wilderness without a care in the world one second, only to find yourself dragging across the floor the next, all because you plucked a flower. Let's not add that to a survival game.

Adding weight to the game does not make it harder. It makes it annoying. It is not hard to just keep returning to your base because 5 berries weighed too much. Don't fix what isn't broken. Ofc the game isnt hard when you play it for a long time. Any new player that plays the game is guaranteed to die a lot early on. Because the game still holds up a challenge.

To make the game harder, there should be more difficult challenges that YOU decide to go to. Which is exactly what klei is doing with the raid bosses, ruins etc

Ya'll remember when toadstool had 150'000 health and ran away if you didn't kill him withing a certain time period? Is it wrong of me to say I want a boss like that, but drops an actual reward, and not just a lamp?

I am totally alone but that's the hard mode I want

You want every character to have their speed affected by their inventory? This is basically what you're asking for, then:

On a more serious note,

The inventory is what it is by design. If you think it'd actually be fun to play this way, then, by all means, you should! Stick a calculator next to you while you play if you want to be precise, or just make your own basic units of weight for items. Don't Starve is great when it comes to playing your way, while not needing to forcibly alter the playstyles of others. I myself would never want such a mechanic, but if you would, then you should go ahead and test out how it would work for yourself.

That is the point, to make the game a little more difficult, to have to use logic a little and not go out and collect everything in the world.

its less of a challenge and more of a tedious and unfun or even unfair

if you want a harder game, less resources, more mobs
