Thieverpedia
Warly main here. I loved how his playstyle encouraged trying new foods and learning recipes, not relying on the Meatball and Pierogi meta for hunger and health. You could just use Meaty Stew for easy hunger, but you were still encouraged to learn all the recipes to keep your health topped off, unless you were using Healing Salves or Poultices. As a chef, I would love to see perks related to it, rather than making him easier to play. I'd like to see players challenge themselves. Ask what recipes they can make. Learn to cook beautiful foods. As a Warly main, I hope Klei can make a character I can be proud of maining. That is all Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108199-anyone-else-hoping-warlys-picky-eating-wont-be-removed/ Share on other sites
Terra_Zina
I'm sure they wont remove it, but they'll probably nerf it or make it easier to know when you can eat something. I quite liked playing Warly in DS as I found myself making obscure foods like jam, kabobs and meloncicle. Would be nice if he could bring some SW foods over, like banana pop! Viktor234
I agree the picky eating shouldn't be removed but at least it should be adjusted. In DS you can keep your belly above 0 by eating only 1x Meaty Stew every 2 days since Meaty Stew restores as much hunger as you're loosing in 2 days and his picky eating takes only 1.75 days to vanish. My imagination: Either the picky eating delay should depend on the food (~1.25 days per 75 hunger, min 1.5 days, or so...) or Warly should remember his last 3-5 meals and get a penalty if he eats one of those again. To make it bit clearer, he should be able to inspect his food and tell if he ate it in the last days. Alexias
The perk made him bad compared to other characters as anyone could stockpile pierogi/jerky/meaty stew and rush ruins. you may stockpile different recipes but you still worst than Wilson as you wasted time and inventory space. I rather they rework it, give him similar perk that encourage him to make new recipes, but definitely not the same as DS. TheKingDedede
Playing with Warly is like playing the equivalent of a hungry, picky child who will simply not eat their food. When they do eat it, they do nothing but complain afterwards (And most of it is on the floor, the table or on their face) and begin the process again when the next meal rolls around. For the love of all that is good and delicious, they need to tweak this downside/possible perk. Maybe have an increased bonus for foods that haven't been eaten recently? Anything but having him complain about foods he has eaten before. Dr. Safety
I frankly want them to be the same if not worse, but that’s only because I have some ideas for borderline OP team based upsides. Ideally I want Warly to be tough on the person playing as him while making survival easier for the rest of the team. If Warly is going to be unique, there is really only one way I can think of, which is buffs from Warly specific recipes. I was planning on making a thread about it later on tonight Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108199-anyone-else-hoping-warlys-picky-eating-wont-be-removed/#findComment-1217061 Share on other sites
MrNaxeros
That picky eating really discouraged me from playing him, but when I actualy tried him (after regenerating RoG world) it was actauly quite cool. I always make too much food so I could experiment with other recipies, or just stuff myself with meaty stews and be done with it. I wouldn't mind that downside. Though with food being less avaible simply due to number of players it should be tweaked. Misa22
Am I really the only one in this post that knows that you can stuff yourself with 3 meatballs and by the time you need to eat again, you can do the 3 meatball trick again? Or just meaty stew, since it gives more hunger value you can survive only eating these when you have to. Picky eater? Sure, if you want to HEAL with food. In the hunger aspect... Meh, Warly is pretty much the same as others. ShadowDuelist
I hope they rework it, in a way that is both a blessing and a curse. Maybe a much stronger benefit from each food, and a stronger con if you eat the same thing over and over. 4 hours ago, Viktor234 said: To make it bit clearer, he should be able to inspect his food and tell if he ate it in the last days A hint when inspectig food sounds like a brilliant idea to make the con understandable. Brago-sama
If they do keep picky eater near the same as it was in shipwrecked, he'll be a tough cookie for boss fights. Maybe not for the absolute best players but literally anyone who needs more then 4 perogi, 4 honey hams and nuggets in a fight against things like bee queen, toadstool, the three stooges, klaus and the like will struggle with him I'm ok with that tho, as long as his rework gives him actual upsides Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/108199-anyone-else-hoping-warlys-picky-eating-wont-be-removed/#findComment-1217154 Share on other sites
