What Shipwrecked Knowledge Should Warly Bring to DST

Recommended Posts

With all the interesting features and items that Shipwrecked has to offer, I would really hope that Warly would be bringing a little taste of that to DST. According to you guys, the underwhelming majority of you do not want it to be the Ice Maker 3000 to be added (as evidence by this poll)and after thinking about it, I'd have to agree with you. Ice is in DST already so it would mostly be useless.

This got me thinking though, and now I want to know what kind of exotic elements you guys think should be ported from SW to DST (whether it become common knowledge for all, or just through Warly)

If I got to decide, I think the one big thing that Warly should bring from SW to DST is coffee. Warly should start with one coffee plant, and know how to craft ashy turf (10 ash and some specific turf item, like maybe marsh turf). This will allow him to plant it once his team settles down in one location for base. From there, the plant should slowly be able to be multiplied. One method for this could be that when a bird is fed a coffee bean, it has a 10% chance of producing coffee plant seeds or something like that. Rather than being able to be planted in a farm, it could just spawn a coffee plant where the player plants it (in ashy turf of course).

That is just my idea though. What would you change about it, or better yet what SW feature do you want to accompany Warly when he is ported into DST?

Portable Crock Pot, Coffee, Sweet Potato Souffle, Fresh Fruit Crepes, and Monster Tartare. These are what I see as essentials to Warly. The chef hat would be nice, and gorge recipes would make me weep in joy, but it is those five items that seem the most essentially Warly to me. Therefore, sweet potatoes and coffee plants are a must.

Warly could also come with crops like Wheat and Sugarwood Trees if there are Gorge recipes and stations included.
Lobsters, crabbits, and clams could help fill out the rather dead open sea. An ideal would be the addition of the Swordfish.

Other Recipes Warly could get: Leche Frita, Fish Stew, Carrot Cake, Sweet Potato Casserole / Pie, Spiced / Honeyed Jerky, Honey Candy, Croquettes, Burgers, Steak Frites, Mashed Potatoes, Pork Chops, Poutine, Bacon, Fruit Juice, etc.

But in purely selfish desire terms I've always thought about a blue recolor of the coffee plant that is the cacao plant, because I find coffee to be nasty but love hot cocoa. However, given Warly is a coffee addict and not a chocoholic, I don't really see a cacao plant coming with him at all. Even if there would be chocolate recipes.

I think the portable crock pot makes sense. Mostly because he probably takes it everywhere, including to survive the trip to the place we know and love.

I also hope he can craft it (for his teammates to take if they please) to emphasize teamwork.

Sidenote: it’d be neat if he had something like a backpack that slowly cooked whatever he put in it at the cost of 10% of his speed.

i think portable crockpot is usless , i prefer coffee. coffee is op !

Not that useless, it's a good starter item, plus takes less place than a normal crockpot, allowing a larger amount of crockpots near fridges, for easier mass cooking process.

But imo the most useful item he could bring is his bag. A better Backpack while is also a cheaper Insulated Pack.

I mainly meant what shipwrecked specific items (not character specific) should be arriving along with Warly. His portable crock pot is a necessity since that is pretty much all he should eat.

I'd love it if they could make his bag also usable as a hat, while still conserving what's inside like a crumbled package, its contents unreachable without equipping it back to your chest, making it a very unique container and allowing more often usage opportunities to the body cosmetics.

I'd love Warly to bring some fish recipes from SW. We're going to be able to fish on the sea eventually and using fish as "meat" (for making meatballs for example) or making only fish sticks would be quite boring... Imagine cooking a beautiful California Roll or Surf 'n' Turf in Warly's portable crock pot as you travel to lunar island. Warly would feel happy ^^

Please, not coffee.

The years have passed and, for me, it still feels like an op mod that flew under the radar and got mixed with SW files.

It is the most single broken thing in the entire game. People complaining about Wheeler destroying the purpose of kitting with dodge+extra speed while coffee has always been there smh.

that isnt possible as it would require to hold his bag in inventory to equip in head slot.

I get what you're saying but it shouldn't be impossible to design something that can only be placed on head and chest slots. If not, I guess there's no harm in allowing it to be carried as well, like crumbled package. The pouch in its current form is too OP and completely outclasses insulated pack so to address that changes are needed. I think it should be made to only allow the carriage of food items, like those candy sacks for Hollowed Nights. I also think the new recipe for it should include Beeswax to make it not so infinite and give the beeswax an additional purpose.

Hear me out. What if instead of nerfing the chef's pouch, make it only usable by Warly, and buff the insulated pack. Make it have the amount of space as a piggyback but with no slower movespeed and the insulation effect.

The only buff the Insulated Pack might need is that it could be immune to fire. It could be REALLY useful if it was like Ice Chester/Icebox w.r.t. Thermal Stone s.t. it could bring the stone to ice cold.

Chef Pouch is there to compensate for Warly's delicate appetite. If he can share it with others, then it is just a nerf to Warly and a whole set of other items.

We need more complicated boss/mob fight mechanics (watch any Cuphead game-play), not Coffee. Coffee simply breaks the game. It would be truly amazing if Warly brought Gorge recipe book with him, and that he could craft Grill etc, so we don't have to cook everything in Crock Pot.
