No unique boss (well, kinda if you count the Queen Wormant, but her reward is super boring), no unique items, there's very few traps, they are really small, and the only reward is relics, which you trade in for a sandwich late game. Creating an entire new expansion seems like a major ordeal compared to getting content patches, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Klei released a 'Home Sea Home' equivalent patch about a year later. Atleast Shipwrecked was developed by Capy, Klei's teams are entirely responsible for Hamlet, and this company also has to worry about Don't Starve Together, with its character reworks, new characters, and expansion stuff, they also have Oxygen Inc, Hot Lava, and Griftlands (whenever thats going to show up again).
