Rellimarual
From other players I’ve recently learned a couple of important and useful things: Gnats rebuild their mounds after you mine them, providing a good source of more rocks A spyglass (obtained from the masked pug’s treasure chest), can tell you if there is a secret room behind a suspicious crack. You can catch scorpions in basic DS traps I have a few questions I’m still not sure of the answers to: How do hippos spawn? I try not to kill both of a pair because I got the impression in beta that then they would not respawn in that spot. Is there a downside to killing all the thunderbirds on the island or in an area (if you are not WX)? And if not, how do you do it? A few things I’ve learned: The BFB hates the farms in the area surrounding the city and if it lands there it will prioritize smashing them with its beak even over abducting you, so don’t lead it there or stand anywhere near those structures hoping to be picked up. Not only does the collector pig trade for chiton, stingers and mosquito sacks, but he will take as many as you’ve got in a day, so the oddities emporium is a good source of oincs if you hang out near areas where mob fights generate a lot of these drops. Frogs v mosquitoes, for example. Jungle burrs disappear after lush season ends, even if you collect and store a stack of them to plant. They don’t appear to have a spoil timer, but it seems they really do. worker pigs will spawn out of nowhere to repair burnt or semi-destroyed pig buildings, including the ones built by the player i would love to hear other players’ tips and discoveries, too! Rellimarual
Also, has anyone tried to avoid the Roc by being a in boat? Curious if it just goes away then or lands in the lake... gghhrr
so far from I've known, Hamlet is quite different comparing with other DLCs more adventure and discovering secrets instead of looking up nice place to set up mega base kind of fun when you find one of them Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/100983-enduring-mysteries-and-recent-discoveries/#findComment-1135715 Share on other sites
ucw
Re: thunderbirds There is a hat you can craft that prevents taking any damage from thunderbird lightning (or any lightning) If memory serves, you might need to make the smelter first, but I haven't don it in a while. Thunderbird feathers are unique and used in at least one crafting recipe (sorry, again, been a while and don't remember all the details.) I was wearing the cowl in the ruins and it seemed as though scorpions were unaware of me if I stood still. (coincidence?) It seemed pretty consistent. Said vegetable/fruit inside the farm plot is not programmed to be destroyed so the roc tries to smash it over and over in vain. If you actually manage to pick up the vegetable/fruit, she will proceed to smash&destroy the farm plot as normal and move to the next one. Szczuku
-BFB leaves you alone if you: enter the jungle, enter the city, get on the boat. -BFB also smashes gnat mounds -Gnat swarm is a great distraction for Flytraps. Just need to make sure no light sources are near -Light bulbs in BFB cave aren't guaranteed -Mants will attack flytraps and beetles on sight -Flytraps will instantly stop whatever they're doing to get meat -You can create Weevole spawn points by planting a lot of tall grass in 1 spot. You can also destroy their spawn points by uprooting a lot of grass -Peagawks try not to get stuck on edges Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/100983-enduring-mysteries-and-recent-discoveries/#findComment-1135801 Share on other sites
metallichydra
weevoles eat grass tufts that is uprooted, so if you have hippotatomooses near a tall grass field, expect it to decrease in size Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/100983-enduring-mysteries-and-recent-discoveries/#findComment-1135918 Share on other sites

It's not just Farms, it's everything with the Structure tag, this means anything built by the player and stuff like Pig Towers and whatnot. This does mean you can force Roc to destroy trees, as you can simply build a chest near a group of trees and she'll smash down on that location. 12 hours ago, Atsumame said: The reason for this is because the roc tries to kill the vegetable/fruit inside the farm first. She now smashes once to rid the plant, and again to rid the farm itself. ucw
Make sure you thoroughly investigage cave clefts. Nice surprise today: lost totem hiding in the corner of a cave cleft. If I hadn't built a campfire to illuminate the whole room, I might have missed it. They come in pairs, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. I had two near one base and was always careful to only kill one at a time. The second would spawn back soon. But I had to kill both of the hippos who were too close to my current base and they’ve never respawned. I don’t know the code, though. This is just based on observation. Tumalu
I'm pretty sure they fixed that bug, actually. I threw 3 coconades at the pugalisk and it did not die. I made sure to do it when most of the segments were all really close to eachother, too. 8 coconade hits should kill Pugalisk, so... yeah. Didn't die right away when I started attacking with a cutless either, so I'd guess it's only taking 1 hit per coconade now, on the part that's vulnerable to attacks. Viktor234
According to DS-Wiki Pugalisk has 3000 Health and a Coconade deals 250 damage. The Coconades needs to hit 12 Pugalisk parts to finish him. How many times does a single Coconade hit for every tail part? Does the Coconade pierce through its scales or do you need to attack him a few times to get rid of his scales before using the Coconade? Tumalu
Well, based on the video it looks like you just hit the vulnerable part with the coconade and it somehow hits it numerous times.
