Meneervis
Do you guys think there need to be water spiders? I know it doesn't make sense but it's needed to make Webber a little better in Shipwrecked and make the sea more dangerous.
WillowCrocker
I actually like the idea! After all, there ARE spiders that are aquatic...
GentlemanFridge
The moment I saw the title I thought: Pondskaters, or in this case: seaskaters. Add two legs and you have a Don't Starve pondspider... I mean seaskater.. or seaspider. Can't decide...

Oh man they would look awesome in Don't Starve! 5 minutes ago, WishIHadAFridge said: The moment I saw the title I thought: Pondskaters, or in this case: seaskaters. Seaspider ofcourse, would give a nice buff to Webber, because his minions on land don't follow him.

voyager156
That's great idea! They can have underwater nests-bubbles like that one: ...and can slide on the surface of water like this specie:
JimmyJam
There are 6 legged bugs that walk on water! I don't know their real name but most people i know call them boat bugs lol

Rellimarual
I already have them. Somehow I ended up with three tier-three spider dens in the shallow waters above my base.

DwerBomb
I feel like water spiders is all we need now: a water friend for Webber, a sea enemy for the others, making the sea more interesting and a bit more dangerous and silk more common
TheKingofSquirrels
I was gonna say no, but then I was reminded of the lack of interesting mobs to fight in DSS. So sure, but only let them spawn in shallow water.
globefish23
Argyroneta aquatica - the only species of spiders that lives almost entirely under water Dolomedes fimbriatus - a semi-aquatic spider that hunts on water and can dive to hide
Xedlord
Yeah I had a dream where I was playing don't starve shipwrecked and there were water spiders but they looked like small white balls floating on the ocean that would grow 1 red eye and 4 spindely legs and a huge mouth when I sailed by Now I'm not saying that I think they should look like that I'm just telling you what I saw in my dream
voyager156
This really should be implemented. Not just because of Webber - but it would also made sea more interesting.
An Artifact
Thumbs up for this idea. The more varied my spider boy's entourage can be, the better.

SinisterOctopus
I was picturing something that looks like the water spiders in Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Sunshine. Whatever they look like, they could be a reskin of the cave spiders, but hide under the water instead of inside a shell. Silk is too plentiful already though... Some other drop? Slightly higher venom gland drop rate maybe?
