Is it possible to radiate heat into space now?

Do liquids disappear in space? Haven't tried that, but in the places that were exposed to vacuum (not the space background) the liquids did not seem to be bothered. They might got hot until steaming, then behave like gases.

Liquids will only dissipate when exposed to space if the actual tile the liquid is occupying is itself exposed to space.  So if you were really cleaver, you'd take a substance that only becomes a gas at very high temp, and fill an open topped pool with it.  Then run other coolant fluids through Aquatuners in that pool, heating that liquid until it becomes a gas, and the gas would be pulled away into space.  But the radiation pool liquid would have to be something you can produce a lot of pretty quickly, and also be a substance that has limited other uses.

Chlorine is the only substance that leaps to mind, but it's liquid/gas state change is far too low to be useful in such a process.  Not to mention it's dubious thermal properties.

Boiling water or polluted water and venting that steam into space would be the least material intensive way to vent heat into space, but the most eminent renewable sources of water are also cool steam vents, so in effect you can't really dump much more heat in there before venting it.

Slush geyser etc is a lot lower than that though

I've never seen a slush geyser in my games and in my current cosmic game I also haven't been able to find a volcano and no AETN  in sight yet. I must be pretty unlucky. :(

I can tell you that you will at least have some AETNs they are coded to always be in the game. As for volcanoes.... well I play with more geysers etc so I always find them, and if i play vanilla i usually find slush and chlorines. no volcanoes XD

How do you turn up the number of geysers? (At least, until there's a slider for that)

Look for your ONI folder, Streaming Assets, whichever one has biomes I cant rem as I am at my work, and in each Biome YAML file at the bottom is Generic geyser Spawn, It will currently be at 2 meaning each biome in its entirety will have 2 random geysers.

Some forewarning, Increasing the amount too much can lead to overvrowding, especially if you have ruins in the game.

I'm pretty sure you always get 3 x AETN in every world gen.

Subworlds is the one you're on about. I was very confused as there is also a folder called Biomes :p

I am sorry XD but at least you got it :) if you remove the ruins putting the geysers up at 4-5 might be ok. but you will most likely find that one has overlapped at some point.

We can still increase the size of the map with Onion Patcher (right ?) but what you say is that we actually want to increase the size of biomes as well. Do you know how to do that ?

No, not the biomes, the biomes generally scale with the map size, All i meant was increase the size of the map because if you do not you might find you have 4 random geysers all in the same biome. It is fun cuz its like opening xmas gifts, but if you have them so close together then making a build is a pain XD

I'm p sure there's a thing on the Steam Workshop that does that...

Spoiler

Edit: here we are!

If you want to change some of these volcanoes, you can always just use Duplicity.

I'm pretty sure I have a save file somewhere that has 2 slush geysers...if I find it I'll give you the seed. :wilson_goodjob:

I thought it was between 2 and 4.  So you'd often get 3, but you'd sometimes get only 2, and sometimes 4.

This also doesn't account for potential PoI overlapping, deleting conflicted objects.

This, is the killer.... but yeah in the world gen there are three supposed to spawn as of Mk1 Ranching, I checked last night and this is still the case.

But like you said it is possible for POI to overwrite each other, I recently seen two geysers overlapping each other with the bottom most one being deleted,

Maximum 3. It's in the files.

And doesn't seem possible to add more /grumble
