Excellent work on keeping this maintained. What do you think about organizing the list into categories rather than mostly lumped into the same category?

Been thinking about it cause the Activities and Challenge section is getting pretty long, I just need some category ideas, like the ones that fall under the Basic Gameplay section. Care to help me out?

Sure I can help, how would you like to proceed?

Well i guess a place to start would be finding achievements that are similar in nature and grouping them under a catergory, like under the basic gameplay anything to do with exploration is under an exploration tab.

Question is I don't really know what it is a lot of the ones under activities and challenges have in common. :/

Okie dokie, I will do my best. I will create a list and post back when I am finished, then you can look over it and see if I missed any.

I feel as though a vast list of achievements would make me more interested in playing the game. Don't get me wrong, Don't Starve is one of my favorite games to play, but I'm not very good at it, and it makes the replayability somewhat low. I might actually make it a goal to do most of the things on your list. It might help me get back into the game, as well as become a better player :) Thanks for this!

Awesome idea OP. You've come up with some pretty creative challenges. Well done.

At the risk of being a shameless self-promoter, I'm gonna bring up my bingo mod because I think it fits well with the spirit of the thread. Basically you're given a randomized bingo board filled with items and structures that you have to collect or craft to complete a tile. Get 5 in a row and you win bingo. You can also fill in a whole board if you want. By default you get a lame banner with a message when you win, but in the DS version, there's an option to toggle another reward.

You can also control the difficulty and adjust where the items come from. So like if you don't want items from the ruins, then just leave that one unchecked. You can also input a custom seed so you can compete against a friend if ya want.

Search bingo on the steam workshop if you want to try it. The standalone on this site is out of date, but it should still work.

Apparently I sold so much skins and card, that steam forced me to file my taxes

Does that count as achievement?

Spoiler

To be honest, I don't even know a thing about filing my tax information, so I'm F****D

I can see where most of the meta achievements listed earlier would still be legit to add to the list--just not the ones that cost money.  But, the "wrote something on the wiki" "made a mod" and "posted on the forums" could still work.  Again, they're meta achievements so they're optional...er...even more optional than the other achievements, which are technically all optional in general, but I'd say if they don't require people to spend money they might not ordinarily spend, they're okay.

(And for the record, I didn't remember there was already a "Uncover ever biome on the map" one listed before I wrote my map-related ones.  Whoops.)

How 'bout...

--Survive an entire (normal length) in-game year with everything, both good and bad, set to "more" or "lots" (there isn't much difference between the two).

--Survive an entire year on random season lengths (which could be good or bad) and...

--Survive an entire year of four normal seasons but _starting_ with winter or summer.

DON'T STARVE ALONE ONLY:

--Survive an entire (RoG) year _without ever building a science machine_ (or anything higher).  Yes, including magic.  Learning from blueprints and grabbing free stuff off dead adventurers is okay.  YOU MAY NOT PLAY AS WICKERBOTTOM--that negates the whole point.

(This is, of course,  the "We Don't Need No Education" challenge posted here (and failed miserably) months ago, but with more of a defined goal.  It's imperative that this be regular Don't Starve because it doesn't work if other people who aren't also playing are there--and since it's an optional challenge, ya can't force 'em.  Sad but true.)

"Play for 100 days" instead of "one year" can be substituted for any of the above, or added as a variant, whichever.  If you have ALL the seasons set to their longest versions a year _will_ end up as more than 100 days, but that won't happen very often with all the lengths set to random.

Last but not least, that bingo thing sounds kinda fun.  Anyone remember the old Don't Starve randomiser thing?  I've seen a couple videos with that but there doesn't seem to be a newer version.  It'd spit out a task to do within...a day?  a week? and if you didn't do it, you then had to do a punishment that then also lasted a week.  I can't remember where I saw videos of it, only that it looked interesting.
