How do you redeem pin codes in DST?

Hoping someone knows - I bought quite a few of the pins from the Klei store, and their webpages say that they include a random DST in-game item. I can see a code on the front of the packs, but it's only 12 digits, not 16, so it doesn't seem to work when entering it on the 'redeem' page in-game in DST. Am I entering the code in the wrong place, or have I just got a dud code?

She knows where to enter it, but it's not the right code. Included in the pins was cards that look like gifts in game. You scratch off the silver on the back, and a code reveals itself. Enter that in the "Redeem" section in DST.

Did you receive the square cards with the present on the front with your pins? If so, read the top. :)

There isn't a scratch-off card / square inside, but there is a holographic sticker with 'official klei store' then a 12 diget code below it. The problem is, when I enter  this code through the 'redeem' screen, it inst long enough to fill all the boxes, and won't let me submit it! Hence why I wasn't sure if I was entering it in the wrong place.

 

Does anyone know a way around this problem/how to fix it, or who to email about it? :(

So in the image, I've covered the code itself - it's a 12 digit code on the front, but this code doesn't work when I enter it into the 'redeem' section through the game itself (as it's only 12 digits, and there is space for 20 digits on that screen) - it won't even let me click submit as there aren't enough digits.

I will check with @Corey to make sure this is absolutely the case, but I believe the Pins come with a separate card for the item code - the code you're looking at in the image is not the item code. 

....please ignore me. I now feel so stupid. I've just found the separate code cards among the small stack of advertising leaflets that were also sent with my order -_-; Thank you very much for your patience. Welp, I feel very silly now

I actually have the same problem, but with a Calico Chester Plush I received recently. Didn't realize the code was not long enough until I saw this thread since I did not try to redeem it yet. But my order did not come with any other card or code than the 3x4 digits on the card. What do I do?

You contact ESC Toys by e-mail and tell them you didn't get your code. They e-mail you back, confirming some information about your order and they e-mail you the correct code right away.

So, I contacted them about a week ago and got no answer yet. It seems I am not the only one with the problem too:

Oh. I actually got an e-mail back within the hour and then after a few more hours I got the code. I have to admit, my e-mail was kind of 'angry' though.. I had just payed customs costs for that skin and it ended up being super expensive and how dare you not give me what I payed for! That sort of thing. Maybe because of the holidays, they aren't answering as fast? Send another e-mail. Label it urgent? I have no idea what else you can do :( info@esctoy.com is the only advice I have.

Yea, I will definitely try to re-contact them. Seems a little odd to me this problem I must say...

On the bright side, I didn't pay customs on it this time...still was expensive enough with the overseas shipping ;)

It is a little odd, you would think they have this figured out, since they were offering all these sweet deals .. ;) But hey, who am I to complain. I don't even want to mention how much it was, it hurts to say it. I hope you get your chest code soon, it's pretty awesome! 

Yay, I finally got my in-game Calico Chester Chest as well!

Learned in another thread that the 12-letter code is apparently just a certificate of authenticity, so not supposed to unlock any item anyway. So I guess they really just forgot to ship the code with it.

Did you get it by e-mail? I am still waiting for the physical parcel which I ordered at the beginning of December. It still hasn't arrived in Sweden. Do you know if it might be necessary to contact the customs in the US (can it even get stuck there)?

while annoying, i would not worry too much. twice now esc.toys has forgotten to give me my codes with my purchase and i had to contact them to get them to ship me the card with my code. just an envelope with a little card in it. and i live relatively close to their shipping distribution center, it took almost two weeks for me to get my code so i can only imagine how long it would take to get to sweden. plus, it was during the holidays so add that extra shipping time in.

Thank you alot for the information. Now it feels a bit calmer. I can gladly wait for weeks, it is just the uncertainty/paranoia that is throwing me off. Hearing the national news about the difficulties that the postal offices have had during this holiday put my heart in distress.

Also the fact that ESC Toy seemed a bit trigger-happy with refunding the order when I e-mailed them about the tracking number worries me.

You are right. The Crabbit plushie that I ordered last year arrived in about a month (although that was in the season without any big holiday or harsh weather). As of today, hardly one month has passed. I'll keep holding my breath and keep you updated.

I did get the in-game code by e-mail, yes. The actual parcel with the Chester arrived fine though within 2 weeks or so (I'm in France), and I also ordered during the sale. If it is stuck in customs (usually in the arrival country), you should in any case get a notification from your local mail service to pick it up. But depending on their reliability that may get lost too. Your best bet is to ask the sender if they can track it.

Funny though, when I asked about the missing in-game item code they also immediately refunded me the complete purchase, although it had already arrived a while ago and it was just the code missing. Had to re-transfer them the money back and then got the code :D
