So let me get this straight. You're aware of the existence of a feature that many turn off because it has many detrimental effects on gameplay, you know it's well-known, but you consider it cheating for the educated to disable it and expect them to leave it on and wait for other educated players who are also aware of its problems to inevitably come along with it turned off and wipe the floor with them, because uh... knowing how the game works makes you a jerk, I guess?

Alright, here's the deal: you can't "get good" if you rely on unreliability; it's literally in the name, movement prediction. You constantly have to guess where you are and have to hope predictions don't screw up your timing on a treeguard for example, or in this case on a player. I highly recommend you read recezib's (old) post regarding action prediction to learn more about what it is and what it does.

I'll just say, I play by myself sometimes or with just a buddy cooperatively on a private server, and I still disable movement prediction simply because I don't like spiders hitting me from across the screen.  I don't see how that is cheating if I leave the setting like that in online, because getting hit by spiders from across the screen in a PVP game is just as annoying.

 

Let's go through some logic:

1) Disabling movement prediction is cheating

2) Spiders can snipe you if you don't disable movement prediction.

3) Spiders must be cheating!  Wait... PIGS ARE CHEATING TOO!  AND THE HOUNDS!  Good grief!  It's like the entire artificial intelligence in the game is guilty of cheating!  How do I ban the game AI?  Freaking cheaters.  Klei needs to add the option to ban all spiders from the game if they are going to just cheat like that.

Then again, you shouldn't call someone bad when they're fighting someone with a clear advantage, so two solutions I see here

1) If you want people to see you're side, ease up on the salt so they see you thinking about it rationally (This is to King)

2) Learn that movement prediction screws people over. A lot. (This is to Fappy)

I see King's point, that the system is horrid and people without it on can just turn into a god damn hell spawn and just kill someone without a hassle. Those with it on experience rubber banding, false character locations, and lack of hitting what you want to hit. Wouldn't call turning Movement Prediction off Cheating however, seeing as it's availiable, and in the game for anyone to access, so it's technically fair use. Just annoying.

Ok so I consider myself a relatively friendly person so i'll go easy on you.

Rezecib just explained what movement prediction is, and how it works. About how it can benefit you in both PvE and PvP by allowing you to properly kite monsters and players. But even after that you just won't stop bitching about how it's cheating will you? You won't get what you want by bitching and crying about it on the forums, it only makes it worse, and the Klei will just ignore you as another retarded 12 yearold who doesn't understand how things work.

It's not magic, it's a console command that last time i checked isn't c_godmode(), so it doesn't make you invincible.
