Why Webber is rad and NOT TRASH

This is one big problem with a lot of servers. People think they are much better than anyone else and all the others are newbs. When i ever play with a new player i like to help them because i know how cool this game can get when you know what you are doing.

I'm just afraid of people that will destroy my base. I've been through too many griefers to let anyone in.

Webber is like what most new players use, Due to the fact that he looks cool (No he doesn't) Webber is fun, but to many new players use him and wander around making webber mains look bad

They only put themselves at a disadvantage with low sanity and "good" mobs attacking you.

Is there even a discussion? Webber is OP as ****. It's a bit harder to farm Pig Skin, yes, but it's called "together" for a reason. Someone else can gather that and trade for silk.

While Webber can't use spiders to cut trees, they are much better for killing things than the pigs, since you can hire 4 of them with only one piece of meat and they'll follow you no matter the time of the day.

You can farm silk, glands, meat and spider eggs easily and in great quantity. By winter, you can easily set a base protected by 8 level 3 spider nests and still have more silk than one player could need at that moment. (I usually make a 4x4 square and plant 1 nest in every corner and 1 more in between these corners)

While his sanity is lower, it's not something hard to maintain. Also, his enhanced health and hunger is reeeeeally nice.

Overall, I think Webber's qualities overpower by a long shot his flaws

though i may not make a war but wendy can basically do webber's job  plus pig benefits basically death inviting webber without a spider army

Spider farming is not webber exclusive. Webber's other perks? Are.

you are right about that, but it makes getting large quantites of silk early game easy. Finding a spider den on day one won't always happen. Monster meat is a plus though for early game as well but other then that he has no other real advantages; he's more like a solo character for pvp sort of. He's not the best character but he's not totally useless

I love him because he's so dang useful. The friend that I play with goes as Wickerbottom, and we work together very well- I get monster meat + bird eggs, he gets grass + twigs. We've created self-sustaining bases by day 8 on multiple occasions.  Webber does work well with other people, but more like a delivery man that sends in stuff for meatballs.

Yeah all his little perks add up and I'm sorta surprised he's even being critiqued honestly.  Good HP, Good Stomach, Free Silk that doesn't take up an inventory slot (or free insulation), eggs to make a spiders nest start growing exactly where you want it near your base site (instead of having to wait for a level 3 nest), ability to fill up on monster meat if you happen to be away from your crock.

Honestly Wes is the character most in need of help, and Willow is pretty weak too (I kinda like managing sanity with fire, but setting bases on fire due to nervousness is a pretty harsh trait for a coop game.)

Willow* Go drunk, you're home.

Edit: Willow doesn't even have that trait anymore like @Bebbit said, but not your fault everyone makes mistakes, even me.

Eh, never accidentally set a fire myself, but the wiki said it happened so I assumed (mistakenly it seems) it was right.

Also how easily spider armies are formed.

Sure, spiders are weak, but if I come at you with 50 spiders, at least some of them are gonna do something(Unless its a giant, but its like any other follower can do anything to giants either).

And let's not forget how in the Caves Webber is surrounded by friends at every corner.

Webber is so awesome for the caves. The only issue is managing his sanity but that's usually fine if you're well prepared.

Webber is cool but if a ghost finds your base and haunts spider dens, they'll start attacking dens and other spiders. Maybe they'll be a fix for that in the future?

COUGH  @V2C COUGH

This isn't unique to Webber though. Ghosts can ruin your day in a number of different ways regardless which character you're playing. Even in this way specifically, it's unlikely a well supplied base won't have spider nests nearby.

I never said that it was exclusive to Webber. Everytime I've tried to make a base in PvE or PvP, some ghost inevitably tries to haunt everything, and destroying dens which took a process to place and upgrade, which ruins the whole spider base part of Webber. Especially when I could be doing something more productive. So ghosts are the best undisputed problem still.
