TonyV Posted April 12, 2016 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Okay, am I just missing something here? When a chest starts smoking, I can't extinguish it. If I click on it, I can only open and close it. Pressing space next to it does nothing. Right-clicking on it just shows me a description of it. Ctrl-clicking, Alt-clicking doesn't work. So whenever I see a chest start smoking that's out of range of a flingomatic, especially since I don't make a habit of carrying ice around with me during summer, I just have to helplessly sit there and watch it catch on fire and burn, possibly catching other stuff on fire close to it. Is it just me, or is there no way to prevent chests from catching fire? I also specifically said that I'm referring to chests that are out of range of my flingomatic. If I see a chest smoldering, it's highly unlikely that I'd be able to go mine some ice (especially since it's summer), craft a flingomatic, place it, and turn it on before the chest ignites. Basically all I'm asking is, is there any way to extinguish a chest with your hands, similar to how you can do with most other things in the game? You are thinking of DST, where this mechanic is used to combat vandalism. In DS, there is no such thing to my knowledge. At least it worked with Grasstufts and the likes (Drying Racks etc.). Although this was several SW updates ago so maybe this is another bug introduced through SW. Pretty sure that nothing ha changed. The only temporary solution I found is to exit to menu and start the game again, that way the chest will not be smoldering anymore.
