      [UPDATED] Physical Megapack Disc Issues   04/16/2018

      Update 5/11/2018 We do not have any more information at this time. The last we spoke to 505 indicated that the discs should be ready very soon. We will likely have more information next week; hopefully with full explanation of when and how to get new discs.    Updated: 4/27/2018

      On April 17th, the Don't Starve Megapack was released. Almost immediately, it was discovered that the wrong content was printed on the PS4 retail version of Don’t Starve Mega Pack (the Xbox One version is not affected). The disc contained Don't Starve Together, but was without Don't Starve, Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked. As soon as we confirmed the problem we contacted our retail publisher to find out how this happened and what could be done. It's taken some time to get this far, but this is all the information we have at this time. The current status of the issue is as follows: New copies are currently in print and will be on shelves ASAP, hopefully within a few weeks.  When the new discs arrive in stores, players who already purchased misprinted discs will be able to exchange the disc for a new one in store. Details will follow as we figure out the exact timing, the procedures with specific retailers and what the exchange will entail.  Players who already purchased the faulty disc previous to 4/26/2018 can now contact Klei support HERE for a Playstation Store voucher code that includes Don't Starve Together, Don't Starve, Shipwrecked and the Reign of Giants DLC that you can play now. Please specify your country as certain vouchers only work in certain regions.  New purchasers of the Megapack in store as of 4/26/2018 should be given a voucher at the time of purchase on your receipt. If you do not get a code, contact us ALL purchasers will have a path to get a new disc when they are ready. We do not have details at this time, but we are comitted to ensuring that all players get what they purchased.  We are hearing from some players that some retailers are telling players that they will not be exchanging discs. We believe this to be incorrect and that particular person or location is just misinformed. 505 has ensured us that they are doing their best to make sure these discs are being replaced for all players. We will not allow anybody to fall through the cracks here. We will buy and ship the discs ourselves if we have too.   This was our first major retail release and we're extremely disappointed that our players have been let down with their purchase of the Don't Starve Megapack. We're doing our best to make sure this issue gets resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks everybody for your support and patience.   2. If the devs ever reply to your comment, they'll likely ask you to provide DxDiag.txt to see your PC specs. Might as well do that sooner.
  3. Can't launch server // Cave error

  4. Anytime I try to enter a cave, the game crashes with the following message: "Don't Starve Together has run out of memory and must shut down". If this happens on a public server, I can rejoin that game and once it's done loading, my character appears in the cave. The moment I try to come back to the surface, I get the same crash again. If, however, it happens in a world I'm hosting, trying to resume that world ends up crashing the game again, so I can no longer access that world. Sure, I can potentially roll back to a point before entering the caves, but what is the point of playing a game with half the content? I disabled all the mods I had (Combined Status, Geometric Placement, Gesture Wheel, Global Position and Global Pause), and tried to create new worlds, going from Huge to Small (thinking my RAM cannot handle worlds due to their size), but all to no effect – as soon as I enter a cave, I crash, and then I cannot get back into that world ever again. This issue had not happened to me before Forge had rolled out. I would get occasional crashes when entering/exiting caves, but (1) it wouldn't happen every time, and (2) I could still get back into the game after crashing. I don't know if it's a RAM issue. After all, it happens to me on public servers where I don't have to host two dedicated servers (which could explain running out of memory). I would also like to point out, that creating a new world now takes up to 5 minutes, while trying to resume an existing world takes up to 2 minutes. As far as I remember, it used to be quicker. I'm really hoping to get some help from you, guys.
  5. World Save gone! D:

    In order for the game to see them your save files should be located in \Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether or \Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogetherANewReignBeta, if you're playing the beta. Whenever you moved the content of those folders, just put them back in.
  6. Your saves should be somewhere like MyDocuments/Klei/DoNotStarveTogetherANewReignBeta. You should relocate all the contents of this folder to MyDocuments/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether, because as of the latest update the game is no longer in beta.
  7. The new patch for SW came out Nov 24, and I still can't get my hands on it, since when I launch the Klei Updater, it tells me the newest version is 194670, which I already have. What can be done to circumvent this? I would really appreciate the latest bug fixes.

    Hi, I'm having an issue. I've been trying to update my game to the latest version using the Updater app, but every time I run it, it says that the latest version is 194670, which I already have. Why does it keep happening, and how can I actually get my hands on 197843 and so on?
  9. Flotsam no longer spawns.

    The thing is, this issue has been around since... well, I'll go on a limb and say, since the official release of SW. Maybe even since beta launch, I'm not sure. Before, when SW was only announced, I remember playing RoG sometime in the summer of 2015, and flotsam back then would spawn near water on a daily basis. After that, SW beta was released, so naturally I didn't play RoG for a long time. Only by spring of 2016 I tried RoG again and, to my disappointment, I found several bugs that ruined the experience for me. One of them was that floatsam never spawned after the initial batch found near the parrot. So it didn't make much sense creating a SW-compatible RoG world, since you wouldn't be able to assemble a Seaworthy in RoG (apart from breaking the sunken boat). Another one - was that when a chest started smoldering during summer, pressing on it only allowed you to open it, not extinguish, and pressing SPACE next to it did nothing. Only leaving the game and reentering made the smoldering stop and let me save my base while I didn't have other means of firefighting. It got annoying pretty quickly, so I just dropped that world. I tried to make a non-SW-compatible world, and I noticed that when I cook a meal in a crockpot, it doesn't show when it's done, the pot seems empty. I made entries about the first two bugs on the bugtracker here some half a year ago, but since then they were archived or whatever, but they are no longer on display. Perhaps, I was wrong to categorize them under RoG bugtracker, but that doesn't deny the fact, that these issues need addressing. I'm surprised they are still there in the latest version of the game.

  11. DRM-Free Launcher Crash

    I experienced this problem a few days ago as I was updating to the latest patch. What I ended up doing was closing the updater by clicking the cross at the left top corner of the window, waiting for a moment, then launching it again. Sometimes, after doing so, I would get the same error on the same file (like, 34 out of 119), sometimes it would make a little progress and then crash on a different file. By repeating this process of launching, downloading a couple of files, crashing, closing, waiting and relaunching, I eventually managed to download all the files, but not before the updater crashed more than a dozen times. After that the game seems to run ok, although I already witnessed some new bugs in it.
  12. When the monsoon is over, it takes a couple of days in the dry season for the puddles to dry out. No big deal, right? Except it doesn't work as intended, or at least not the way it used to. I'm currently in the beginning of the mild season already, and this is what I witnessed today: 1. Puddles never completely disappear on some islands, their source "tiles" (as big as a sandbag) are still visible and stepping on them makes you wet. Some of them are NOT visible and they still make you wet. 2. Puddles expand like tides during dusk and night. Except it happened in dry season and they shouldn't have been there in the first place. 3. Standing next to puddles during the day in dry season seams to make them disappear completely, but when a Dragoon Egg hits near them during volcanic rain, they suddenly appear on their previous spots, and come dusk they start expanding. 4. I'm currently in the mild season and my island still has many flooded areas that I rarely visit. Didn't check on other islands yet, but I bet every flood that was offline didn't disappear properly. So, that is that. I hope my feedback was useful. Really look forward to a fix for these issues.
