What's the DST late game?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I would say I'm an experencied player, I often play with most of the characters and always got to 100 days+. I already ended the Adventure Mode and I'm in world 5 in my 'main' save. I actually like a lot of the late game content of the Don't Starve (I'm not experencied in SW), caves, ruins, the adventure mode, the world change and other things like that.

I brought my friends to play DST and got into a 160 days server, my two friends slowed the things for a bit, but we got it into 160 days, but now, I'm wondering what's the late game content of DST? Can you guys explain to me what can we do?

A couple of ideas/things I'd do late game:

Farm the dragonfly for gems and scales.

Use the green gems from the DFly to make construction amulets for cheaper crowns  starcaller staffs, lazy explorers, do construction staffs, thulecite crowns. Use the construction amulet with the deconstruction staff to duplicate thulecite, gears, marble, Moose feathers, etc. Deconstruct your pan flutes to get infinite pan flute uses.

Starcaller staffs are superior to camp fires in DST and last forever. Plus they are renewable. The magni might even be viable with gems being renewable.

Farm the APSS for trinkets.

Base build across the map, turn the whole world into your base. Decorate set pieces, build roads, place thulecite walls, checkered flooring and scaled turf wherever you want because you can, but I wouldn't overdo it since other turf and walls look great. Build a telelocator focus in each biome to transport you to your friends or vice versa across entire maps.

Farm other late game equip such as morning stars, krampus sacks, blowdarts, etc.

Use the biomes you haven't built in for friendly PVP matches. Rebuild the world in between killing eachother and reviving. Restore the world in between matches and games.

Use your trinkets from farming the APSS and make a chess/checkered board with turf and play games.

Make a varg pen to farm infinite gems/teeth.

Move goats into your base because they're fly. Telestaff one goat to keep your herd 99.9% safe

Figure out new ways to do things. We recently tested larvae lights, telestaff the DFly larvae across the map and boxing them in with scalemail for road lights. Difficult to do in the first place since larvae set things on fire, hop around and attack, and can't be frozen. Unfortunately, the larvae disappear into thin air a little bit after being telestaffed. This is just an example though.

Eventually you'll be able to take beefalo if that's you're thing. Through the Ages might bring late game content.

And if DST gets boring, attempt lights out DST.

As a side note, I really wish they kept the world/cave regen seperate. This would make ruin raids a late game activity instead of only happening once or twice. You could also stockpile multiple cave/surface resources since it was very similar to world hopping.

All you have to do is close the overworld server and then c_regenerateworld() on the cave server, and voila! Just make sure everyone is out of the caves before you do this. You could also do this in reverse to regen the overworld, or do both in sequence (provided you can get players to cooperate and return after a couple of server restarts) to simulate an entire world hop.

About lategame, its about the same as in regular DS RoG, but possibly with multiple character-specific longterm mechanics such as WX's upgrades and Wickerbottom's book exploitation. There is no adventure mode though, so you will have to make your own challenges.

That doesn't feel legitimate to me. We were raiding multiple worlds as a group until this was patched. FeelsBadMan

Nothing says EndGame then 10 people on Beefalos (using commands) take on a DeerClops... Nice way to wrap it up yknow.

An easier way to do this is to just use c_regenerateshard() on the server that you want to regenerate.

see how many times it takes you dying on wilderness lights out before you can actually spawn in a good location

i tried it and i spawned next to one entire twig and a flower, the startgame campfire being about two screens away

how were you regenerating the caves earlier without console commands then?

The server are more linked than they were. If everyone went cave, and then one person went to the surface and died. The reset timer would start on the surface would only, and vice versa.

ah, I see. You required a human sacrifice to move to a new world.
