Her attempt to call out to him was cut short from a twinge of agony as she tried to get up. She fell back over onto her side and curled up again. "Kate, don't move, you'll just hurt yourself. Trevor will be okay." Her brother tried to reassure her, but it didn't help. He went in the direction he remembered the pole was and found the following things: Sand, more sand, and a very loud noise that startled him. He tried to hide in his coat, which would of been a pretty successful plan if his left leg fit in his hiding place. This was then the time Trevor hoped that the white whale wasn't actually floating around in the darkness. This was because of his family history of the white whale "removing" Ahab left legs. (Chris! Because by the way she talked when Kate got injured by it it sounded like she knew something was in there and expected Kate to know it too. Did she get hit by it? Did she see others get killed by it? Also, Dwer, Famen is the only one with a phone light. Trevor doesn't have one; thus he did run into the darkness blindly.)
