{I read 'the hound turtled' for a second there. X3}{siiiightly OP being able to dodge an attack like that. But I'll 4 give. She got slightly rekt anyway. X3 I'm so mean to you Danny 4 give meh}

Gilda heard the barks and turned. Those were clearly hounds. Hounds out here? Seemed odd, but okay. Hounds popped up all the time, blasted things. She could go help the others or stay here to keep herself safe. Equipping her axe she headed towards the noise.

-------

Wheke decided that s/he would go this way! Barks echoed from behind them and they turned around. THIS WAY. *They also headed towards the noise before running into one of the group. A fish person! "Yo! You were sleeping and I didn't get to introduce myself. I am Wheke, yes you may call me capitain."

Gilda blinked at Wheke. "Sure thing tentacle face." She then continued on her way.

Was that a statement or an insult......... Wheke thought and followed.

( I knew that being able to dodge the attack (which power-wise, would be totally possible) would be op. She's alive, but she's gonna have a nasty case of concussion)

I just thought of the scene in the Simpsons movie where the 'giant boob lady' is in the aurora and points homer to where he needs to go}

Mark was looking at the kind-of-humanoid shark as it kept smelling him.

"Uhm... you... heard the lady, we... kinda have to go, apparently."

...

"Like, right now."

...

"Do I smell THAT good?"

They soon were able to hear growling and barking. The sounds were getting louder each second that passed, meaning whatever was making the sounds was getting closer.

"Uh oh... uhm... I... think that might be the reason why we had to run. And it might just have found us."

...

"Seriously, CAN YOU STOP WITH THE SMELLING THING?"

Mark didn't react at first, because that all happened so fast.

He looked worried at Jaw as the hound bit his arm, and looked around for something to attack the creature with.

He grabbed some flint near him, ran to the creature and plunged it in his back, while repeatedly bashing him with his umbrella.

"Die! Die! DiE! DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEPLEASEDIE!"

Wiffleball peeked out of the crabbit hole. Kate wasn't dead? No, she was okay! His ears lowered as he pulled himself out, struggling with the effort. The tear Julian had made earlier had a black tint to it and was unsewn, but other than that, he looked undamaged. He stumbled over to Kate and hugged her leg, still holding the purple coral chunk in one paw. Things would be okay.

But what was that noise?...

Too late, Wiffleball recognized the threat.

A hound burst from a nearby jungle, snarling and barking as it ran straight at the two. It bowled over Kate and snatched Wiffleball in its jaws. Black droplets flecked everywhere as the hound shook its new prize around, tearing at it with its teeth. Two more hounds pushed their way out onto the beach, intent on finishing off the downed Kate.

(Dragon to the rescue!)

Kate had no time to react to the sudden threat. The attacker slammed into her chest, knocking the wind out of her and leaving her sprawled out in pain as it made off with her friend.

Out of nowhere, the dragon dove out of the sky and slammed onto the hound carrying Wiffleball, bones and organs crushing under her claws with the force of her landing. The hound's jaws went slack, allowing the plush to slip out.

Kate barely had time to get breath back into her when two more attackers charged with intent to rip her to pieces. There was no time to think, just act. Some sort of reflex or instinct took over and she thrust her hand out, flames igniting up her arm and shooting out to engulf the hounds. The wolves let loose unholy squeals of agony as they flailed in vain to rid themselves of the flames that clung to and devoured their bodies. The vomit inducing stench of burning fur and flesh wafted through the air. She could only watch, frozen in horror as the hounds slowly collapsed into heaps of burning flesh and bone. The fire on her arm had not gone out, instead spreading across her body, seemingly feeding off her terror like a pile of dry tinder.
