Famen carefully placed the crank on Noctimus' back and started turning. Suddenly, Noctimus started growing at a rapid rate.

Wiffleball slowly poked Kate, then began poking faster and faster as Noctimus grew. She needed to see this.

As Famen sets up the crank, Noctimus feels a sharp electrical zap, like touching a high-voltage electric fence.  The more he grows, the harder it becomes to turn the crank; eventually, it becomes nigh-impossible to budge.

Famen turned the crank until it wouldn't budge. At this point he was sitting on the back of a huge nightmare puppy. Noctimus' weight barely gained somehow, leaving the boat intact. "I think it works!" Famen called down to the boat.

Noctimus made a big smile at Kate, and then splits into two Noctimi

then those Noctimi split into more Noctimi.

then those Noctimi split into more Noctimi.

then, ah, you get it.

This repeats until there are 100 Noctimi the same size as before the original one was grown.

Kate is then greeted by a tidal wave of nuzzles and kisses.

Famen falls about 10 feet from the air, landing face first on deck, still holding the crank. "Ow." Famen lifted himself up, walking over to Meritursas. "Well, it works. If not in the way I expected." Famen said, glancing back at the sea of Noctimi on board.

"no matter.  We simply have more subjects now."  Meritursas says confidently.

Syndir wasn't sure what was the best course of action in this sort of situation—run, scream, or hide? All of the above?

Syndir considered this, despite being aware he was incapable of swimming.

Kate let out a startled "AH!" before she was hit with a wave of soft nightmare puppies, her pirate hat getting knocked off and lost in the swarm. Soon the sound of her laughter echoed out of the pile as Noctimi began nuzzling ticklish spots and licking her face. The group could hear her sanity meter rapidly increasing, as if she were spam eating cooked green caps.

"I'm gonna see what kind of things the 'potato' can do." Famen said, going into the storage room to escape the craziness of the Noctimi takeover. He examines the wires, lights and everything on it, running his finger over the seam in the middle.

Wiffleball was not safe from the nuzzles. Every single Noctimi knew that Ma didn't really like kisses, so they just nuzzled him.

The seam opens at Famen's touch, splitting the potato clean in half.  Instead of each chunk falling over, they sort of hover above the ground, at an angle to eachother which resembles an open book.  The inside is covered in glowing runes, written in an unknown language.

Meritursas wonders if the group would notice if a few Noctimi mysteriously vanished.

Gyx stares in awe at all the Noctimi. Without thinking, he grabs one, and stuffs it in his storage sack. Its crying and struggling would go unheard and unfelt, as he shoved it into his DEEP Storage sack.
