Kate could make out the shards of glass on the floor and the blood dripping off his hand, barely paying attention to the fact he took his mask off. She opened the door some more and timidly stepped into the room. "Is your hand okay?"

Turner hears the mirror break from outside and goes in to investigate. "Break a mirror and have 7 years of bad luck master always said!" He began to pick up the broken shards, "Unfortunately mirrors aren't so expendable like the food is..." The robot was hinting towards the dog creatures who were stealing food from the fridge earlier. "You'll have to pay it back in some way..."

Syndir had been so captivated by the mess that when Kate appeared he had flipped out into a martial arts stance—though he didn't know any martial arts. "Oh it's just you."

He moved his uninjured hand in front of his face.

"..Not 'just' as in not important!" He added weakly. "My hand? It's fine, there was an er—"

"The mirror was possessed by an evil spirit, so I had to smash it and stuff." He cringed having had to lie to the one he held before all else—he almost hoped she would dispatch him on the spot.

*Suddenly robot*

"My luck's reached rock bottom a long time ago metal man. As far as payment goes, I'll go tend to your master's garden or something. I'm assuming they have a garden right?"

"YOU DARE LIE TO THE GODDESOF FLAME?!" *dispatches on the spot*

Kate tilted her head to the side, looking up at Syndir with wide, innocent eyes. It was obvious his hand wasn't fine, and it was obvious he didn't want to admit the real reason the mirror broke. She understood. She made up stories a couple times when she did something she felt guilty or embarrassed about, but mom and dad could always tell and then she got in trouble. She wouldn't tell on Syndir.

Or maybe the mirror really was possessed by an evil spirit. She's met a lot of weird stuff since she woke up in this place.

Right now though, they needed to wash his hand off and apply bandaids. She timidly approached the big robot, "Mr. Turner sir? Where's the bathroom?"

(Okay, okay, jeez.)

(And for those of you who haven't stumbled across my art thread yet:)

Meritursas knows he is deep underwater.  He knows there is crushing weight pressing down on him, but he doesn't feel it.  He knows that there is a powerful current tugging on his back, pulling him along and boosting his speed; but he doesn't feel that either.  In reality it's because he's dreaming and can only see things, but he assumes it's because of how tired he is.  He has been swimming a long time, trying to find anything he recognizes, but to no avail.

It's been over a month since the world changed around him.  He has spent that time hungry, exhausted, and hunted.  He isn't sure how much longer he can last in this environment.  His vision starts to blur; he needs to sleep.  He sees an enormous skull half-buried in the sand and quickly swims towards it.  He curls up in its eye socket and falls asleep.

Almost immediately after he becomes unconscious, the current carries him away...

A few hundred feet away, Niellatursas sits, with her tail wrapped around a rock for support.  With all her eyes save for the ones on her tongue closed, she examines the large quantities of water flowing through her toothy, funnel-like jaws.  Hundreds of fish are pulled into the abyss by the current, along with the occasional sharx, squid, or other marine creature.  She smiles; this new ocean had so many new and interesting creatures in it!  Occasionally, she'd pick one up in her thin, needlelike fingers and examine it, either dropping it back in afterwards or releasing it into the ocean.

She was especially hoping for a ship or other human-carrying vessel to drift in.  She had only met a few people in her lifetime, but they were usually pretty nice and fun to play or talk with.  Most of the Tursai she had found were more interested in tearing up her insides.  The serpent sighs.  Why did her race have to be so rude?

As Niella contemplates this, she feels something slam into one of her teeth.  It felt too big to be a whale, but too small to be anything else.  She turns to look, and finds a tiny dark-grey snake wrapped around an incisor, seemingly unconscious.  It looked like a species of Tursai she had seen before, but way smaller.  Intrigued, she picks it up and lifts it to her eyes.
