Finally, they reached the surface! Viridis started coughing uncontrollably, because she had inhaled some water a little before they went up. "T-thank... y... you..." she tried to say inbetween her coughs.

Viridis slowly calmed down and got her breathing sort of under control. "Where... is.... the hu-- Mark..." she asked as she tried to relax on the rocks Gilda had brought her to.

Wheke wasn't sure when or how to end the gesture and just petted Trevor's head. Was this the hairless Primeape's mating ritual? Wheke had no clue and started panicking over not knowing how to be a mother. S/he just wasn't ready for the responsibility of eggs yet!

-------

Gilda shrugged. "I haven't been watching, I've been keeping an eye on the fish guy." Which reminded her; she should give it another birds egg, it loved those.

Mark was now just laying there, silently breathing and looking up at the sky, trying to calm down.

He heard Famen's question and tried to answer with a "yeah"... but when he tried to talk, all that came out was a hiss, and he quickly went quiet again.

It's been a long time since he had turned into... that. And he really hoped he wouldn't transform into it. At least, not now...

(What? Everyone knows all Canadians can transform into monsters.)

Kate hadn't seen that the dog had caught her another fish, and was still trying to catch one herself. This one was taking a bit longer than the other ones had. As time went on, she began to grow more anxious, worrying if Wiffleball and Noctimus were ok and if the plush would be upset at her for not going with him.

~~~~~~
As the dragon continued to wander about, she caught a glimpse of an orange thing floating in the water near some rocks. Taking a closer look revealed it to be the same one that had greeted her when she woke from her long nap. Hm... it must have been trying to hope along those rocks to another island. It seemed tired. She'd help it along, since she wanted to look look around that island anyway.
The stones were about the length of her steps apart, which was convenient, although only being able to use three legs was a bit of a hassle. Once she reached were it floated she scooped it up in her mouth and carried it to the other side, plopping it down on solid ground before going off on her way.
Wiffleball was dumped onto the sand alongside Famen and Mark. Noticing they were nearby, he made a halfhearted attempt to get up and greet them, but ended up pathetically flopping back down onto the ground. Y'know, maybe the sand wasn't so bad. He could just stay there for a bit.
(Here goes nothing!)
A booming rumble.
That was all it took for Syndir to realize why everything looked like it was spinning, and that reason was not quite the one he had anticipated. The blatant truth was that he wasn't even on the ground anymore, he was presently soaring through the sky at unseemly speeds. The sudden bursts of air had managed to quell the flames that had begun to spread onto his robes. His thought process went something like this:
HOT!!!
Wait...
Wha?
WHA?!!?
I'm flying?
I've ascended past human limitations!
...
HOW DO I LAND!?!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA—
It proceeded like this until he finally ran out of breath—but mostly due to the fact that he had collided with the southern beach of the island.
He died at the moment of impact.
The end.
...
Immediately the pendant around his neck rose into the air, taking his corpse along with it, and the vibrant red gem that lay at its center shattered leaving a trembling Syndir with an empty gold necklace. He threw his arms up and shouted, "Sweet magma I'm alive!" He paused, and then promptly added, "...Just as I planned!"
(Gonna go ahead and help Zeklo's character get introduced.)
Meritursas casually notes the screaming, flying body soaring through the air.  He doesn't care Curious as to what it is, he swims over to where the unknown entity was headed, using the taste of singed cloth as a guide.
Syndir stretched out his arms into the air and then started laughing uncontrollably. The action was nearly indistinguishable from sobbing, but it made no difference to him as nobody was around. He quickly collected himself as much as he could and then peered aimlessly at the horizon. There was no signs of it—he must have been launched pretty dang far. Dismissing it for the time being, Syndir scoped out the surrounding turf.
(I think I like Syndir already.
Kate's going to be scared of him though.)
Kate finally caught the last fish she wanted and put it with the others, taking note of one extra fish she didn't remember catching but shrugging it off. She stuck them in her pockets, which were surprisingly roomy, quietly put the fishing rod back where she found it, and then headed off in the direction she thought Wiffleball went.
The boar felt the ground shake from the impact. The boar whined, he hated meteors, he lost his friend Ju-lian to one. He however, saw a new kind of trinket on the ground. Without being noticed, he scooped up the little orange trinket and retreated into his house from the meteor.
~~~~~~

"What the hell was that!?" Famen said, seeing what looked like a ball of fire hit the other side of the island. He got up and started walking in that direction.

~~~~~~
Angelle sat patiently for Kate to catch a fish. She was relaxed.
