Ugh... 3 weeks already and nothing from the devs about this. I feel as if they are starting to abandone this idea and are working on fixing RoG instead only ;_;

No, as we stated previously, there isn't a lot we can tell anybody right now. For the most part, we are currently working on the inner workings of the project and gameplay isn't something we can discuss yet. The hard part is the actual implementation of making the game playable with multiple people.

You guys talking about things you would like to see, or discussing interesting problems or solutions to how the game would work as a multiplayer experience is currently where we are at.

So that means that most or part of the "hard part" is done with?

:yaymultipl:

I just ordered the 8 pack of blind boxes for this game, so obviously I'm super stoked about Don't Starve in general.

BUT WOOHOO! MULTIPLAYER, YEAAAAH! (I'm also one of those people who made an account here just to spew my praise) YESSSS, finally my friends can suffer with me!  I can hardly wait!

I am glad that the two gameplay modes will be separate. Sometimes a girl just has to fight shadow creatures by here own, know what I'm sayin'?

As a final note, is there a way I can throw more money at you to make sure you continue to succeed, Klei? Because your company is a shiny, fuzzy thing that I want to stay around for oodles and oodles of time.

Buy a friend the game!

Buy a friend the game!

This is how you get more people to make klei keep making don't starve a 5 star game.

1. buy a friend the game.

2. if they don't think it's cool, start it up on their computer, and show them.

3. If they say no still, tell them to shut the $#%& up and just give it a chance.

4. Feel proud of yourself for spreading the starvation.

I'm so excited for Don't Starve Together.  :joyous:

Just one thing.....

Will we be able to use character mods with this? I hope so, because it just's adds a new level of creativity and uniqueness when you get to play with your friends who look and have perks that are all different.

AWWW YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!

You don't know how excited i am for this. I've thought of a little "quote of wisdom" too, in case you would create multiplayer for Don't Starve.

Anyway, the words of wisdom goes:

Customers are like babies; you'll have to take good care of them, but they don't always know what's best for themselves.

Now, i personally don't think you should make a real difference between single-player and multiplayer, as multiplayer will both be harder and easier at the same time. For example, pros about multiplayer would be more attackpower, but cons would be more people to feed. Actually, if you played with everything from singleplayer in multiplayer, starving would probably become your number one problem.

After a couple months and an office-wide session of multiplayer Don’t Starve, we were convinced it was worth exploring and bringing it to our community.

Does this mean the team built a functioning prototype at some point? @%1;

My suggestion has come to life :D yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. *calms himself down* Im gonna begin expressing my joy by thanking klei thank you so much for bringing so many amazing games to use Dont Starve Being One of them and I'm ready for it thank you so much.

how is dying going to work in this new dlc?

.will we die and always respawn? or will there be a penalty? or will we simply just lose all progress altogether?

i would really like an answer

I'm really hoping it will be the same as we have now, you can respawn if you have effigies, touchstone, etc. And if you die without one, maybe your friend can build one to revive you. But thats all just what I think it should be. We wont actually know until the devs give us more details.

OK so i now have to

#1 Pay a whole bunch of friends a whole bunch of money.

#2 Give my firstborn son away

#3 Sit in a Hot Tub full of Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, and various other condiments for 2 hours (No really. I made this bet. No joke)

On the plus side, pigs can now fly, the rules of physics no longer apply to me, and Mr. Krabs just donated to charity.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO much Klei, you just made my day, week, year, and life :D

Finally!

I'm really not seein' any problem with the expansion, I mean, it's not gonna do anythin' for the ones who like Single-Player and the Multiplayer featurin' will bring new players, a lot of my friends on steam don't have Don't Starve exactly because it's Single-Player and, hell, even I wouldn't have if it wasn't for a sale it had...

I'm pretty sure a lot of people will buy this now! Way to go!
