what is the stupidest thing you have ever done in D.S.

Well I got some of this recently.

I gotta admit, I died early in game on my miscalculating cooked monster meat after a almost-killed -me fight, but never death by Taffy :)

Here, have a like for putting a smile on my face ;)

Died to a tentacle in a swamp. I had chester and a lot of loot on me. Wasted two touchstones and my save trying to get it back. Turns out there was more than one tentacle in the general area.

Note: don't go stupidly charging into a swamp to get your stuff back and expect to live. However, I can personally brag about passing through a swamp at night unharmed with no armor and a few torches at night on my first few days.

As long as you never stop tentacles aren't an issue.

How'd I miss something so stupid...

Thinking Crock Pots and Drying Racks were Alchemy Engine and not Science Machine level required...Well, not like building an Alchemy engine is hard, but the days I could have spent eating better food from that first gold nugget found on so many games...

While playing long summer, opening chest near a map-generated winterometer on day 5.

Then coming to knights (was already near them) to get gears (playing wx, so getting gears means be able to heal, restore sanity and hunger), but placed campfire between knights and walrus camp >_<. As opening that chest triggered winter, I had trapped between knights, mctusk and blue hounds. Dieid of mctusk dart + hound finish move.

On day 5 when I came to this pandora chest I had 20xberrie bushes, umbrella. Was ready to place alchemy engine, lightning rod, and pig village i had deconstructed on other side of the map. >_<

While I'm writing this, tallbirds did killed hounds and mctusk and 2 times chester, I see walrus tusk for walking cane, but can't take it anymore. :(

Had my base camp ready for the very first time ever, took a beating getting the gears from knights for the first time, so low on health. Decided to make a birdcage just before winter came so headed to the swamp. Upon return I see a tentacle in a fight with spiders, so I figured I'd wait out the battle and hope for a free tentacle bat. Turns out there was another tentacle at the very spot I decided to stop and watch the fight, one swing and I was dead.

Lesson 1 of the swamps: Always keep moving, even if it is just in a circle around whatever you're watching.

day on hundred and thirty freaking nine, decided to go caving, found a nice bunny hut village, then the clock went dark, and i died from having meatballs in my stash.... came back and died again of bunny/spider mobfight taking place when my gear stash was...

Ahhh memories...

*tried to repress that similar mistake he did again*

I once tried to build a nice wall of tentacles between me and spider den cluster I made, so I got five books, bunch of pigs to held off spider queen in case one appears, there was like 10 dens all lvl 3, they were at third level for around 30 days, I started my work at dusk.

There were no survivors.

I was playing on my custom character who takes 3x fire damage. I was in a forest with lots of spider dens and thought it would be a good iea to burn the forest down to get rid of them. Without leaving the forest first.

The death the day before was a, um... failed experiment. Lucky I had a touchstone!

Got caught out of base when the red hounds attacked, ran around a small fire all night, health dangerously low, but then daybreak, got to nearby pig village, they got into a fight and I was saved

...then I stopped to pick up a seed and the last hound killed me.

In fact, pretty much every time I die in DS it's a total lame overconfident WTF I DIED?!?! moment.

Yesterday I was nearing the end of the first winter with a good camp set up, died because I was fighting a spider queen (with 5 pigs backing me up), only to realise while I was swinging at her that I forgot to switch my breezy vest with my log suit.

While trying to switch these I loose my focus on the queen who killed me as I struggled to change suits.

Rez'd at the touch stone near my camp, made it to camp before dieing.. and the sound of hounds. Tried to hold them off by running around my camp fire until day to get to the beefalo, but ended as dog food regardless.

Chalk this up under very stupid if not stupidest.

I found a choice world and all this (except the Pig King) was nearby:

By day 2, there was a pig village very close to me with many many (two triangle sets of) berries and it was linked to the Pig king village on the cobblestone road (which I needed to use all but once, see later,) but the village was not too close. There was a mini swamp with five reeds, mosquito ponds,  and ANOTHER single pig house just next to a tentacle, perma-meat/skins.

There was a quarry with only one Tallbird. There was a  Crank Thing with pig house next to my camp so my bee boxes had immediate flowers, and there was a woods and graveyard on the other side so I found a gear early. I was swimming in about 42 gold from all those gravedigger items (why not since I found it just as I was about to build the science machine?) Sanity was not a problem. No gems but that could wait, would would kill me in this setup? *sigh*

I killed about three turkeys from that berry extravaganza. And if this wasn't sweet enough, just as I made my first permanent camp back then, I saw only two frog ponds so I was swimming in frog's legs too. I had the perfect setup for farming (even if I had not found Beefalo Yet.)

I was plunkin' about 7-8 drying racks by day 7 due to a small/medium discovered savanna, and multiple crock pots. Hounds were easily killed from the Ham bat. Frogs were a one hit joke and I did two at a time. I found a Killer Bee's set-piece and was going to take care of that after I checked for Beefalo.

What could possibly go wrong?

I was short a meat for my soon to be spoiling bat and decided to kill off the crank pig (tentacle was harvested earlier) after the last hound wave. i forgot to switch to my armor and I actually got one shot killed by a damn single pig. Of course I had not gotten enough stuff collected for beard hair collecting (and no life amulet Prestihatinator or touchstone yet anyway,) so that was it

i will never have such a nice world setup again. I'm positive too that huge savanna to the south of me I was about to explore had Beefalo of course....

.

When my boyfriend got stuck behind a hay wall, I told him he could just burn it down to free himself. Of course, it resulted in him dying to the fire.

Oh god! I am soo sorry your boyfriend....

wait, you mean your boyfriend's character.

Never mind, carry on, sorry-for-your-loss-and-stuff....
