Agreed, that is valid concern.

Im might be the case that it will be hard to compare apples to oranges - what would be bigger content, 3 new biomes or deep robotic system? What gives players more engagement? What is more fun? For everyone the answers may be different...

Yea people keep saying it's a deep complex system yet i do not see much description of it on the official store page showing if it actually is so deep and complex as some claim. It looks underwhelming instead at first look.

But i'll wait till the beta i guess.

We've increased the drop rate and recycling yield rate for blueprints (aka cosmetic skins). That means more opportunities to collect, recycle and print new styles to customize your colony.

Is this the same cadence as before, or does it take longer to claim blueprints 4 to 6 versus 1-3? (only asking since it took 3ish hours since the patch dropped for my 4th blueprint to appear)

And while I'm nagging about blueprints, is it possible to retroactively add filament from previously recycled cosmetic skins?

I very much recommend the new "Spaced Out!-style Mini Ceres Mantle cluster" for anybody that wants a challenge! You probably need to do a lot of things differently from your usual approaches with that one.

Also, great news about the DLC!

The Bionic DLC whether it is good or underwhelming im just glad that we are getting more new stuff. Base on what I read it seems that these robots will be excellent for Space out, if being able to control machines cross planetoids without a dupe being on that planet might be something to look at here.

Curious on what materials do we need to create or how to get these Robots, how early can we get/make them it would interesting if we can turn dead dupes into these robots as another way to create them. It looks like we have a new element liquid like fuel for the robots, and I see new blueprints for Super Computer and Research Station which means more free blueprints I assume which is always welcome.

So far it is interesting, I wasnt expecting another planetoid dlc cause well, we just got one with Ceres. So I was expecting some new sort of system or gimmick that us players can choose to use or not, and the robot dupes kinda fit the bill, so im not mad. Hope the price is the same as Ceres or less actually maybe. Ill buy regardless tho haha

LETS ALL WAIT for the beta to drop and then we can share our opinions after we try them out, lets not jump the gun, the steam description doesnt really explain everything.

Bionic DLC is extremely cool as its offer longly needed late-game changes. We will be able to use more than few kW of energy. At last! Now its actually will make sense to build reactor or sour gas boiler... Cant wait!

Not only that but remote work is a game changer for commuting and a great alternative for transit tubes. Bio-dupes on the other hand are awesome alternative for oxygen masks and atmos suits, and I'm curious how useful they can be for conquering new planets - borg rockets? Just these two things completely change the game.

When, I look at it that way I have to retract my previous statement and I think it's a good decision they are seperate from standard dupes.

To give my perspective on this i thought Frost DLC was underwhelming since the "new" stuff was basically all for early game and almost nothing changed for mid/late game. Also we already had frozen planet so now you just had to warm your dupes next to fire time to time. Meh

Looking at this new DLC this one looks SICK! And also looks like this will have bigger impact on mid/late game which is my cup of tea for sure

Just from the screenshots it already looks like more content than previous DLC and IDK what are you missing here but if it is new planets then im sure they will add something interesting to this new DLC too

Just few examples:

Closing up some production room and having cyberdupe controll it through wifi? This could potentially change a lot of mid/late game systems and make then much better or easier to do. Or just having something on the other side of the map controlled from the base is really cool too

Cyberdupes skills customisation is nice and if we can give them traits too that will be awesome

Pilotless flight? Do i need to say more? :)

I, for one, am very exited about this new DLC. Sooo many mid to late game features. Just what I want! As I previously stated somewhere, an endless streams of new biomes would have become very boring very fast. I'm glad it didn't go that way.

That being said, even though FP was viable as a DLC at launch, I must admit I found it a bit underwhelming at the time. With the new bammoth morph and additional dlc crittes feeding routes, it is now quite OK now but I think all that value should have been there at launch. (A flox morph that gives coal would even have made it great IMO.)

What kind of Stress Reaction is this?

Image is from Steam Page

Thats not a stress reaction, thats "too much gunk (robot pee) accumulated"-> "emergency emptying reaction"

Judging by the amount of stuff added to the game code already, its a pretty complex system

Any chance the blueprint -> filament boost could be applied retroactively? The full history of transactions is listed on the Klei Account so I assume it's possible to calculate how much extra fillament each account should have. I bring this up because there's no other way to get filament or purchase cosmetics and it's kind of frustrating for people that have been deconstructing their duplicates as opposed to holding onto them for a moment like this. (this would be a mute point if you could purchase filament or cosmetics)

Same here. And personally, there is not a single ONI add-on that ever really disappointed me. I have a high level of trust in Klei that this one will be nice too. And the complainers? I do not think they are worth my attention anymore. They have nothing.

Im quite excited. This sounds better than another biome. Diversity of starts is nice, but Id argue starts are already interesting enough, its the midgame that can become soemwhat samey, so more toys to paly with in the midgames are always good. Not to say that frosty pack had 0 midgame stuff, the geothermal vent thing was interesting, I wanna see how the bionic stuff plays, what infrastructure it needs etc. One thign I might try is settling my second asteroid with bionics only, though that depends if its viable.

Oh, and autopiloted rockets sound awesome, that will hopefully make interplanetary shipping with rockets competitive with the launcher (right now the launcher is just way too good and rockets kinda awkward for automated shipping). I wonder whats gonna be the drawback. I dont think it should be trivial to have automatic steering (that would make pilots useless), but at the same time it should hopefully be viable alternative to launcher. I saw some data banks in the images on steam, so maybe it needs cosntant supply of data banks?

I will echo the thoughts of many others here. Depending on execution, this Bionic DLC has the potential to be very interesting. I was hoping for a diseases based DLC, but this also seems great. I always wanted to make some closed systems only to realize that one of the machine requires dupe entry and exit. Having remote operation will also possibly make life easier for someone like me who does not use Liquid Locks.

New DLC Coming Soon!
We've been working on a new DLC, and it's absolutely electric! In this paid DLC, we introduce new bionic Duplicants, portable power banks, buildings that allow Duplicants at one end of the planetoid to operate machinery way over on the other end—and more.

OK, tinfoil hat time!
Last DLC was announced at June 20, released July 18.
Following the same pattern, there is non-0 chance for Bionic DLC to release at December 19!
That would be nice, as I am starting my vacation on the next day and will have more time for ONI :D

To be fair the way you describe it that sounds more like QoL features that belong in a small sized update or something one would find in a workshop mod. And less like something "big enough" for a Frosty Pack sized DLC.
