Changes

  • Added scrapbook entries for the new content.
  • Changed Charlie Rose resurrection to prioritize the Florid Postern when being saved out on the ocean.
  • The Warren Wreath may now be fed to refresh the spoilage.
  • The Coat of Carrots’ duration before it spoils has been increased.
  • The Coat of Carrots may now be repaired with Carrots.
  • The Rabbit King now has a respawn timer when it leaves or is killed.
    • This does not apply to the Fortuitous Rabbit if it leaves or is killed.
  • The Rabbit King fight has had some tuning adjustments to smooth out the flow of the fight.
  • Spelunker’s Bridge construction max length has been increased.
  • Slightly decreased Gloomerang’s attack range, damage and uses.
    • The Gloomerang’s DPS was not really reflecting its cost compared to other ranged weapons in similar tiers, like the Howlitzer. However, simply increasing its crafting cost is not desired at the moment. The Gloomerang is designed to be a situational weapon and with a slightly different playstyle. 
  • Decreased Shadow Maul’s on attack life steal.
  • Shadow Maul will now talk when starving even if it is not equipped.
  • Added Royal Rabbit Enforcer art assets and drops.
  • Rabbit King’s weapon damage bonus has been increased.
  • Added Deconstruction Staff recipes for all of Rabbit King’s items.
  • Removed temporary Icker spawns by the Shadow Rift.  They will now ambush players in other parts of the Caves when the Rift is open.
  • The Player’s equipped items may get stuck inside an Icker when the Player is spat out.
  • Great Depths Worm no longer spawns at every Depths Worm wave. It now replaces a wave on a chance each time that increases until it spawns and then the chance resets.  

 

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a crash related to the Great Depth Worm eating things without an inventory.
  • Fixed washing ashore and falling back onto temporary tiles like Vine Bridges.
  • Fixed a crash when the Rabbit King burrows away and the target player disconnects during the animation.
  • Fixed a crash related to Gnarwails and boats.
  • Fixed damage indicators on Spelunker’s Bridges blocking the construction of structures.
  • Fixed being able to interrupt the krampus’ disappearing animation.
  • Fixed not being able to feed Cooked Nightberries to creatures.
  • Fixed the Lurking Nightmare turning invisible sometimes.
  • Fixed Beefalo waking up when shaved.
  • Fixed Gloomerang’s projectiles not receiving the Void Cowl’s damage bonus when the cowl is unequipped.
  • Fixed the Rabbit King’s weapon from draining Maxwell’s sanity and receiving no buff from old Wanda.
  • Fixed particles from skinned Dark Swords not aligning up with the correct position from attacks going upwards.
  • Fixed Ink Blight (Rictus) from leaping into the void.
  • Fixed Coat of Carrots having a negative sanity effect.

PS: Can I use Life Giving Amulet or Telltale Heart to revive my cow with the new cowbell? These two types of items are more prone to excess.

That seems so much better !! Thank you I really didn't like them getting all over the rift portal.

Okay, this is the first real update of the beta. Very cool changes but

I guess you wanna play out slow with the big wormy boi? Because the community gave an enormous quantity of feedback to make it better:

A couple of questions.

I haven´t seen it mentioned on this hotfix, but, the rifts been able to spawn either just mimics or inkblights is intended ? if so, could this be changed, the shadow rifts materials weren´t very abundant already but this makes the new items so scarce to get they are almost not worth it, not to mention adding an rng check to when the player can get the new items on the first place.

The great worm feels better integrated now, but its destruction has yet not been adressed, is the worm meant to be this destructive ? if so, are we getting ways to deal with this ? maybe a cave teleport that we can set so whenever we hear the worm boss we can instantly transport to a designated empty area. Maybe said teleport could be a reward from the worm itself ?

While on the topic of its drops, they still don´t feel worth the trouble, if the worm boss does end up getting unique drops making its aperance this rare might be contraproductive, a lot of people would enjoy to have spawners of this mob in certain byomes been able to farm it whenever we want with the raids been an added bonus. All of this on the premise it does get a unique drop that we would like to farm.

Good hotfix overall, the bunny crafts feel more fleshed out and the changes to the new shadow items are fair. Hope the bridges can still be improved, going from 3-6 tiles is an improvement but they still have the same limitations as they did before, almost now diference in terms of shortning distances.

Seems like it deals 4 separate instances of 20 normal + 20 planar, which means it deals 160 total damage, enough to one shot most players. That really sucks, especially since you are likely walking with an enlightened crown and that basically puts you at a constant risk to get one shot. Might be worth toning down the numbers to ~100 or so to avoid instant kills for most.
