It is not a joke. This is my prediction. Besides, we can use goat horns as filler and that is way worse. Alot of animals eat their own poop, but a volt goat horn would be worse.

I haven't played cotl but I've heard its great.  I think if I wasn't playing DST and SF6 so much I'd try it out.

I doubt that they will add poop crockpot dishes. The only application I could see for this is to feed it to a pig and have it vomit the last thing it ate and become hostile towards you. While it's a nice way of getting something back from a pig (pig skin, glommer goop, etc.) after  it was consumed, it would be gross if you applied it to actual food, which the player could then eat.

It's all just too gross and Klei probably won't go in that direction
