Done a Wasteland like mobs in the past and just currently gave them a better look: But now I've been thinking about a Tundra like snow covered through all seasons biome, maybe a far away island just to not interfere with the core seasonal shifts of the mainland. What do you think could be added? Or if you'd like one or not. So perhaps pigmen with a thick hide or ones that make coats out of the mammoth/goat's fur. Blizard—snow lizard. Could use Dragoon (SW) base. Polar Pear. Straight forward fruit pun. Probably extra fuzzy. masterjames18 Posted August 13, 2023 Share Posted August 13, 2023 It should also be surrounded by ice that you can either walk on (but it cracks the more you walk on it) and a boat upgrade that breaks the ice (that you only get once you've gone to the island) And the Orka could be lurking under the ice and burst out of it to attack the player! Mike23Ua Posted August 16, 2023 Share Posted August 16, 2023 The only thing I would want a frozen tundra biome to rely on needing is extremely cold protective gear, unlike current DST where you can survive Winter with just a heated Thermal Stone, I want to give an actual use to things like Puffy Coat, Bearger Vest, Beefalo Hats etc… This Biome would have its own unique gameplay mechanics too frozen over lakes of ice & glaciers with mobs frozen inside. Like sliding on the ice when you drop off the battle bus into the snow area in Fortnite, I think that would translate well into DST.. I also think such a biome should have a Sandstorm equivalent of a Harsh Blizzard, and maybe even strong winds (like Hamlet blew stuff off the edge of the map) Not too long ago I beat a game called BugSnax and one of the cool features I really liked about that game was how certain BugSnax, or key quest items were trapped inside frozen ice blocks that you needed to hit with a fire source to melt the ice and free whatever’s inside. I just picture maybe for example one of the above Elephant drawings, completely concealed inside an Iceblock that once thawed out.. you can fight, or tame or whatever.. I'd effin kill for some actual content that isn't locked behind a boss rush or a boss, like updated biomes (stop with the dupes and variants of biomes, those suck, I hate how we need 2 deserts just because, or the possibility of 2 rocky biomes, or 2 deciduous biomes etc.) As long as rifts end up being good in the end (I have doubts due to the state of caves, the ocean, and worldgen) Ill be satiated for a while. Fissures that would bleed "liquid charcoal" to which when crystalized it would be mineable or better having a thumper of sorts to mine for more for fire fuel. Some kind of shadow creature that would stalk you and want to make you cold and sleepy if you won't be fighting to keep it at bay and away from fires.
