I am a player who loves DST and has played for 1000+ hours. I have bought most of the skins and like them very much. But after this incident, I think it is difficult for me to have the enthusiasm to buy these skins

In the Chinese community, we are angry not only that the skin was changed secretly without follow-up, but also that the skin was changed due to the ridiculous reason of religion. I hope KLei will respond in time instead of deleting the post

Most of today was spent handling the inappropriate posts that were made here. 

I am aware there are other players in China who are upset because they do not like the change or feel that we are ignoring them and we are currently working on posting a response there as well.

From what i gather it wasnt so much the change that caused the outrage it was a comment Klei made that was miscommunicated to the chinese community.

From my experience working with a chinese colleague, i can tell you that the chinese are very defensive of each other especially when dealing with foreigners.

A single person made a troll post about how Wigfrid's new hat looks like the Star of David, which is a religious symbol (that it didn't look anything like).

Klei then changed the design from a star to a circle, which I think looks better and more fitting anyways. This obviously encouraged people to make many more troll threads. JoeW has made the following posts explaining Klei's reasoning for the change:

Users and mods takes themself so serious. I made a joke that says "my friends is annoyed by wolfgang moustache because turks have moustache and he should be shaved" after that star thing and it just got deleted. Most of curse words could make you banned. Forums are so family friendly.

Are you Chinese? If you are. Just curious, if the people of Taiwan want to be independent from China. Would you personally support the Taiwan people's decision if they wanted this?

I like the new one more since it’s less generic and more in line with the game’s lore.

Also the big drama seems unnecesary IMO. But I don’t want to get into that since it may hurt feelings as well.

I mean that’s respectable and discussing that would be an art and design thread, like we have had many before. Heck, there are even amazing designers in our community that can share their suggestions on how to improve everything.
