I went to kill CC to get that crown and crown shard to start the rifts. On the way to fight CC I found there was already a  rift in my world... I thought you had to specifically give Wagstaff a crown shard..? I needed to unlock beating CC for Wilson's skill tree anyway so did the fight.

There was no bonus crown shard, all he dropped was the enlightened crown as usual plus a ton of moon rock and moon glass.

The Giving of Wagstaff Shards was added at the last minute and thus was not part of the console update it will be in the NEXT Update for Consoles, but for now I recommend toggling the rifts OFF if you don’t want them triggered for killing CC

Gotcha that makes sense, was wondering what was going on. 

So far at least (only one rift though..) the new lunar rifts/mobs don't seem to be able to reach or damage my main base or most important outposts/areas. Guess I have structures close enough to the areas I was worried about. Again only one rift in so this may not be true and time will tell. 

I have this large koalaphant forest biome I created out of an empty mined rocky biome and I forgot that I planted tons of wild seeds everywhere as wormwood up there as decor. Those plants rot but then eventually grow again in an endless cycle. There are basically no structures up there just various flora and fauna so all three of the new lunar plant mobs decided to flock there and it was a perfect area to fight them. I'm going to plant even more seeds up there as wormwood so that it hopefully becomes the most desirable/likely place for them to spawn/flock regardless of where rifts may appear. My main actual farmplot in my main base is surrounded by structures and isn't close to any creature farms or pens so even if they do go there it might not be so bad. 

The area where the actual rift appeared was somewhat close to a mini Bearger shrine and at the entrance to my forest I use for fighting him/Deerclops. All it did was uproot a ton of trees and a few berry bushes which I've since replanted. After killing the three plant mobs I went back eager to mine some more pure brilliance but the rift was gone, I'm actually enjoying the new stuff so far and if something does go horribly wrong I'll rollback. 

Also so far at least I'm not really finding any need to have planar weapons or armor to fight the lunar plants? Their vines are super easy to kite then you stun the plant by damaging the biggest part of their vines and you get a ton of free hits in. Repeat a few times and done. I used dark swords and it was super easy. Just don't go anywhere near the main plant until it's stunned and walk away before it recovers and it's spike attack will never hit you. Do you need lunar gear to fight the big chompy gestalt guys at the rifts? Is there any point considering they don't have drops? I just avoided them.

Finally one thing I was really proud of was saving all the extra charged moon glass I mined from getting materials to do CC, resetting Wilson's skill tree after beating CC (had it on shadow for CC for extra 10% dmg which seemed to be a huge help) to lunar aligned to turn the extra charged moon glass into a bunch of pure brilliance. 

So far I'm liking the update and looking forward to messing with another rift tonight after work. 

I can’t find any actual concrete data on them but the Grazers seem to have Infinite Health, you can temporarily Kill them, (they splat to the ground like Goo) but they resurrect so fast that it’s just wasting weapon durability to attempt to fight them.. they’re slow moving though so just lure them away from the Rifts and Mine away rinse repeat as required.

Im assuming that the Gear & Weapons will be needed for future content updates (Klei devs did state in their rhymes with play stream that the current rift mobs were the entry point to the new End Game, so they’re probably the Weakest of Whatever’s coming out those Rifts later.

We don't have any info if planar defense is going to be added to the new shadow mobs as well, but they might given that this shadow boxer has planar defense.

On one hand I like the punching bags and how you can check weapon efficiency with them, on the other hand it would be good to know the actual calculations behind those numbers. You know, it's one thing to know something, and another to understand it. But of course I get why they won't do that within the game. I'll just wait for people to update the wiki pages.

It’s driving me crazy the amount of times the bright shade plants keeping appearing in my farm and 3 of them stack on each other is impossible to defeat in normal ways. Can it be possible for them just to go for the nearest bush and then they spawn

This is incredibly Unlucky.. but you can still fight them, SLOWLY One by One, you won’t be able to get in all your hits like you should, but you can work on one plant at a time- and only get in as many hits as you can before the other plants nearby can smack you. Once you have Brightshade Husks and Pure Brilliance build the Brightsmithy and craft Brightshade Swords and Helmets- This will make dealing with them super easy as it’ll only take 4 hits with the sword to break their vines and stun them. I hope this information helps you :)

I believe he will come, but you would have to deconstruct your Enlightened Crown to appease him.

Wait, so the next update ISN’T MidSummers Cawnival Year 3?? You guys stated back when you first added the Cawnival that it would be an annual Yearly event, Is the Cawnival just not coming to town this year? (I mean obviously I prefer the bigger actual content updates..) I was looking forward to the new set of Cawnival games for year 3 (assuming there was gonna be any.)

Unless I got my dates mixed up MidSummers Cawnival is Late May/Early June till July.

I don’t mind skipping the Cawnival & going straight into From Beyond Part 2, but JoeWs Roadmap post said “the usual events” so I assumed the annual Cawnival was the next update.

I totally get that. The damage above or below normal is planar damage/protect. So if you calculate the diff  numbers (above or below normal) with each weapon/armor you can come up with the exact effect of either the weapon or armor. You could even change it into a % to find a pattern. I'm not sure I have helped u tho lol

Dude this sucks! I killed CC during this update, it's been more than 20 days and the lunar rift hasn't appeared. How much longer should I wait, why should we force its appearance through the settings?

When you defeat the Celestial Champion, Wagstaff will appear to collect it inside a jar.

A shard drops with the loot, you're supposed to show and give Wagstaff the shard to activate the Rifts.

If you haven't done that and he vanished, he can be found somewhere in the world. You can give him the shard then, or after defeating CC again.

I had no idea I should do that. Thank you very much it would be great if in the official post they explained the steps better. I thought it was free loot!

Just to let you guys at Klei Know.. Whichever one of you designed the screen effect for the Brightshade Helmet.. YOU Sir or Madam are PURE EVIL :wilson_cry: I thought my TV screen was Dirty so I kept trying to clean it with damp rag. I’m embarrassed.. but it was too hilarious not to Reshare my stupidity.

Hey @JanH very small request here but can you rename the Punching Bag to Average Boxer?? It is Annoying to type Boxer into the search bar and only find the Shadow/Lunar Boxers.. while Punching Bag isn’t in the same filter with them. Thank You :wilson_flower:

The team behind Don't Starve remains the one I look to and say 'This is an awesome dev team. More game devs should be like these guys'. Y'all have spoiled us. Even through the worst controversies, the game and the devs have remained awesome. I went and bought a celebratory bundle.

im sorry but i was trying to play dont starve together with my brother for a long time and i found it with 1 dollars but i cant reddem 1 dollars in steam i can reddem only 5 dollars and more and 5 dollars are to expensive in my country so please i love the game so much if someone want to make me happy i want to play the game with my friend if someone can gift me the game
