probably the same people who keep saying that all playstyles are valid yet complain when you kill any raid boss 1st autumn because you're not having fun with the game

As for latest patch/update changes, both the chopping/mining and (inconsistent/RNG-dependent) attack speed decreases, I don't get how such a modification came-about - of course if is not some unintended consequence. And since attack consistency came about, why there's even such a thing as attack speed variation? Did KLei think this would be "more realistic"? Couple it with high latency and you get sometimes, on over 150/200 (or higher) ping servers, such abysmal attack patterns to the point of not even performing the action (character either just sits there and gets pommeled by enemy or attacks jerkily.. and still gets pommeled by enemy). KLei should revisit this aspect and make a consistent attack pattern, eliminating any-and-all RNG components - I've seen no one from player-base, knowing about this mechanic, defending its inconsistency. There's no logical argument for it in fun game context. Same for chopping/mining speeds: they should be lowered to pre-update pressed-mouse-button rates.

I take the game how it is. I don't really care when something is added/removed unless it is severely broken. Counting differences in milliseconds is the kind of thing that really doesn't matter to me.

I voted I'm fine with it because it isn't even noticeable in my playstyle. If it said "It's okay" I wouldn't even have voted.

I understand some people might be fine with it because it doesn't affect their experience that much, but I fail to see how this can be seen as an improvement.  

Is it possible that they decided to make this change because they plan to overall lower enemy mob health? (so the game plays more closely to DS Solo)  at least all currently existing old mobs, meanwhile some newer mobs would be added later… as well as a completely overhauled combat system.

Klei overhauled Farming, Fishing, Sailing, and the Crafting Menu…

What makes any of you think Combat isnt being eyed down?

And if that were the case the slower attack speed may even be in place to open up some brand new types of weapons and attacks later (possibly even burrowing mechanics from Forge..)

sure it’s JUST a fantasy concept in my head I guess… but I like to think outside the box and three steps ahead.

and in my mind: lowering the speed of the default attack animations leaves leadway for learning new more effective ones.

Unless you're using mods or are willing to wreck your fingers, the new chopping speed doubles the amount of time it takes Woodie to fell a single tree....

Well it's not just matter of "barely noticable" miliseconds in fact it's very noticable not just with chopping and mining but attacking also and it really throws off kiting and attacks are very prone to not properly connect now.

It indeed does feel broken and i hope it will be fixed / reverted.

To be fair, previous Woodie speed was downright broken. When I first realized it I was just laughing like an idiot because it was so stupid. He looked like an electric toothbrush.

Still not a big deal to me. If it stays like this, whatever, if they change it, whatever. I think the thread and the bugs on the bug tracker are long and loud enough to let Klei know what some players think, and I personally don't mind taking a few extra seconds to chop a couple of trees or kill a beefalo.

I do. I dont play this game to chop trees so the less I time I have to spend doing that the better.

You can hold space without doing things way slower than you could be.

Make characters blink too, obscuring their vision for .5 seconds every 10 seconds. New Wickerbottom nerf could be that her eyes are always closed, so players have to use the action button as well as sounds to predict their surroundings. This is the kind of uncompromising survival that we don't starve casuals are craving.

Klei should revert it to faster speed and they should also make holding space be as fast as holding left click because it was kinda dumb that holding space was slower. Also would be nice if attack speed was consistent so that pvp is actually fun

After all, if it doesn't take an hour to create a fire pit, what's the point?
