What was the problem with the old chopping/mining speed?  Reducing it just makes the more tedious parts of the game even more boring.

It also puts Woodie even further behind Maxwell and really any character that can befriend pigs or merms when it comes to getting logs.

Am I missing something? Because in my view, this part of the update is just one huge mistake.

Check out Woodie's chopping speed before and after the update:

This was already a thing in the beta, people just didn't care about it even though I was the one who saw the change in the beginning and took notice about it on the forums.

Yep. We're back to old mining/chopping/hammering speed due to the new synchronization between client and server to make playing with others are more pleasant experience including with caves which appears to have overwritten the chore speed to regular speed again. A soul for a soul.

Oh if that is the case I would rather have it be slower for player sync than anything else. So long as enemy attacks are synched and character movement is synched it's an overall improvement.

only automations/scripters would be bothered over this change.

I'm not clicking my mouse like mad, I'm simply holding down left click...

Simple solution: Spacebar chopping and mining speeds should simply be increased by Klei to what it was for holding mouse on tree/boulder.

Mod solution: Action Queue Reborn, or similar mod.

Steps Klei should take: Implement simple solution.

I didn't have time to play after the update, is spam-clicking also slowed down?

Asking just because I'm curious, the difference in the video looks painful enough and I would support reverting the changes back to how they were before the update.

Spam clicking is the same. but in case you're on pc i'd rather just suggest to use action queue reborn as its just too much of a finger workout to click on stuff. Save your finger.

But just in case you're also on controller spam clicking has always been iffy and still is it's probably not worth brutalizing your controller's buttons for the seconds saved.

this is a cope

There is no benefit to auto-clicking in DST and thus no one has ever used it to gain at advantage.

Literally no one who has lived, is living or will live have/has used/uses an autoclicker in DST, there simply is no reason to.

2023 arrived and klei took it personal XD

>Reduced mining/chopping speed

>Players stuck in pan flute and reading animation (if you missclick, then you will get hit or it will waste a use of your pan flute/book)

>Reduced attack speed

>character stuck on mast

>Holding left buttom no longer have extra mining/chopping speed (faster than holding space)

>no more actions in the dark

Finally we have achieved uncompromising.

forgot to include no more actions in the dark

I have always played a lot of Lights Out. Some time last year, I went from not being able to chop in complete darkness to being able to do it. This was a HUGE quality of life improvement. Having a torch equipped and dragging my axe to a tree with my mouse, I could click and hold to equip the axe and chop 8-10 times before Charlie showed up, similar to how it works in DS solo. Now, after the update, I can chop once, then I need to reequip the torch. Then chop, equip, etc. This is back to how DST initially was, so I'm assuming the brief window of dark chopping was a bug, but I am really going to miss it.
