[Game Update] - 514299

Changes

  • Adjusted map zooming.
    • When using the mouse, the further zoomed out you are, the faster it will zoom.
    • Sensitivity settings have been condensed down to 30 as a maximum.
    • Sensitivity default has been shifted down to 15.
      • People who adjusted this to high numbers may want to lower it.
    • Zooming is now framerate independent.
  • Players that die with curses, now drop them and are not cursed anymore.
  • Igniting things will now play animations when doing so.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed placing boat bumpers with controllers while standing near the edge of the boat.
  • Fixed items being kept in the inventory of a player who died in Wilderness mode.
  • Fixed a bug causing Knobbly Trees to sometimes look glitched out on clients.
  • Fixed a bug with loot in the pirate stash rotting and causing a crash.
  • Fixed a crash with the Beefalo Bell and players disconnecting.
  • Fixed Wortox’s The Swashbuckler skin having different face cheek colours.
  • Fixed Willow’s The Triumphant skin carrying an axe when holding other objects.
  • Fixed save/load and door open/close issues with Wood Gates placed on Boats.
  • Fixed Cannonball shadows momentarily appearing at (0,0,0) when shot.

Does this mean that the curse can pass onto someone else if the bracelets are dropped?

Kinda sad tbh, to me it made sense for the curse to stick with you after death (like Woodie's for example). That and I just like being Wonkey.

Actually, we don't know if this means untransforming from wonkey or just dropping the accursed trinkets.

I too am sad that Ghost Wonkey is not really a thing now. But it is how the Accursed Trinkets should work.

I'm curious, what is the reasoning for the design change? I always like getting insight into why some things in the game change and I'd be curious in hearing the reason behind this one.

There were some bugs with trinkets and death. When we went to fix them, we realized the real bug was that they were carrying over to begin with. The Powder Monkeys and such drop their trinkets on death for example.

If you want to salvage Wonkey Ghost, you could make it so that you can craft Cursed Trinkets into something that perma-Wonkeys you until you use a Moon Rock Idol. Then, it's just a matter of fixing Monkey Queen to make sure she doesn't do anything weird with that.

Hopefully I stop crashing while my map is open now :spidercowers:

Will the accursed trinkets be on your body (and likely picked up by yourself on retrieving your items) to clarify?

I got a small idea/suggestion about how to keep ghost wonkey: when the player has 0 trinkets they should stay as wonkey until trading with the queen 1 last time.

They are dropped where you die. Not removed.
