So how's everyone enjoying Wurt

Recommended Posts

I mean she plays the same as ever. It wasnt so much a refresh as it was a desperately needed qol fix.

A solo wurt needed some way to get gold, the merms would regularly get stuck far away, the merm hat didnt last long enough.

all fixed, and its great. Its not really a change so much as a fix. Love getting reeds renewably outside of the swamp though

I mean I get where your coming from how she goes about her business hasn't changed but I'm willing to bet the changes will go a long way to enhancing how people use and interact with her. I mean shared feeding has gone a long way to how I approach gameplay with her so far.

I'd like some sort of armour mechanic for merm guards when they are in a group. Like having 2 merm guards next to each other makes them take 5% less, then 10% for 3, 15% for 4, etc up to 50% or so. As they are probably the most expensive minion out there it feels like they could use a special power of some sort, and it could be a fun way to further incentivize making huge armies, while making them less vulnerable to AOE like bearger.

To me upping the clever disguise durability doesn't really fix the item, but it'll at least make the item a lot more obtainable, especially now that merm king can give reeds, so can't complain too much. A bit disappointed that freshwater fish don't stack but it seems to have been an active choice. A bit sad we didn't get a swimming mechanic but that was always an unrealistic hope lmao.

Overall good changes though, definitely gets at the core issues of wurt. Also absolutely looking forward to spamming blowdarts now that reeds are gonna be easy to mass produce. This is also a buff to using books for sanity as wurt which is pretty cool. Frog neutrality is also really cool, now frog rains will be a nonissue, as you can just give your friends disguises and stay away from important stuff like your beefalo or voltgoats.

На мой взгляд, повышение стойкости умной маскировки на самом деле не исправит предмет

Just either make it much more expensive but break it in % or remove the loss of reason

I'm loving the changes that have been made, but there's still a detail that bothers me about the wurt, your favorite fruit, durians are very boring to grow, because they only like the spring season and because their nutrient to grow is compost. , which makes the cultivation of other vegetables such as pumpkin much more viable. As a way of getting around the problem I would like her to switch nutritional requirements with onions and start using growth formula and that her favorite seasons are spring and summer.

Just by the fact u can trade for gold without switchin chars alone is like, super duper qoL and im living for it. I mean, she should pass some time in ocean to grab the seasonal fishes so why not bring em all home and trade, u know?

Plus, i think wurt rules spring season. Like wetness isnt that painfull and i know eyebrella nd rain coat exists but in co op early servers people kill for the eyebrella, so its good t o not bein the one without speed bonus cuz umbrella. More than ever goose hunts are fun, the feeling t o have a army hunting giants under rain is so fun and imersive in roleplay. U can even spend ur time lookin for the spawns without the concern of havin to feed the king again anymore. The same for long term travels in ocean. Shes even more precious for me now.

Why Growth Formula? Compost is the easiest nutrient to accumulate a la rot & bins in my opinion. The principle with heavy nutrient crops is that there are three fruits and three veggies in each category (Pomegrenade | Durian | Dragonfruit - Onion | Garlic | Pepper) so it'd have to switch with pomegranate rather than onions, which itself creates further complications like a summer combo of watermelons and pomegranates getting removed. Overall I think Durian fits well to compost anyway as it shares it with garlic, the crop that grows every season & the crop that grows only one season where it doesn't have to compete with a crop that grows in a limited number of seasons. nutrient change wouldn't change production behavior anyway imo since there are crop combinations.

And I don't think durians conflict with pumpkins since they grow in mutually exclusive seasons. Pumpkins in Autumn and Winter, Durians in Spring (and leftovers in summer), they don't clash too much.

I'm an absolute huge fan of how feeding 1 Merm now counts for most in an area (I think its up to 5 additional merms when feeding a Merm guard?) Costs me significantly less food and effort now, plus no micromanging multiple different Merms stomachs whenever I want to take an army somewhere!

It makes sense, I think you're right, so I'll propose other changes:

- I would like King Merm to give salt instead of toys as the demand for gold has already been resolved with the update.

- I would like more items that use tentacle skin, such as helmets, weapons, etc.

- I would like a profession system for mobs like merm and pigs (Example: Lumberjack, Lake Fisherman, Grass and Twig Collector) and that could define the profession of each one by the helmet you put on it.

- A 1% chance for the merm king to give the trident recipe in exchange for a fish.

- King merm now accepts swapping cornfish and popcorn fish instead of eating them.

- King merm now also has a chance to give pomegranate seeds.

- Merm are naturally aggressive towards dogs when the merm king is alive.

Unfortunately all the changes are still in Beta.. and what’s probably worse, is when console version finally gets the WX rework- it won’t be up to date with the current hotfixes for awesome Wurt changes because the build they sent in to be approved is older than the current hotfix status. I really hope that’s not the case: Because I absolutely love playing as Wurt.

However.. I’m aware that console certification process is a pain in the butt, and therefore I have to be patient & eagerly await the day I can make Merm-kind great again!
