Hovering over Bundled Supplies shows content

This is a mod at the moment but please make it standard game. This is such a huge QOL. There's nothing worse than having to unbundle and rebundle just to check stuff. Or having to organize intricate storage systems to keep track of bundles.

If you can't remember then your character can't remember. Try having your character cast a "detect item" spell.

I cant remember exactly what items, how many, and what durability they have when stored in chests, ice or salt boxes.

However i can open those to check.

There is no reason for bundled supplies to be black boxes and cost so much grass, time, planning and clicks to manage.

Having a cost to use the content is fine. To check it, it's not. What would it be like if you had to use a log each time you opened a chest and an ice each time you used the fridge?

I feel like my character could reasonably figure out the difference between a bundle full of meaty stews, a bundle containing 4 live birds, and a bundle with 160 rocks inside.

I would prefer it if you could write a note on it, similar to signs, but I wouldn't complain if this is how the issue gets addressed.

Would be pretty cool if you could make naming tags, like minisigns by turning one papyrus into four useable tags that you can write notes on like a sign/directional sign and then apply to a gift/bundled supplies to add a "read" right click command.

That would be about perfect, provided that the tags dropped intact when you opened the bundle. Having to make a new one every time would be hell.

Also, a "read" command on right click would probably not be possible, since that is already reserved for unwrapping the bundle. But the tag could directly alter the name of the specific bundle.

That's the whole gimmick of the bundling wrap, though. A lot of characters in their quotes mention 'hiding, not remembering whats inside, etc.' when they examine it. It's up to the player to create labels or some method of memorization for the bundled supplies. the minisign is more than enough for that. I dont consider having more than 1 bundled supplise in your inventory efficient most the time (unless you're transporting a ton of materials). They probably arent even labelable or worth labelling because of the slick surface of wax paper and considering it's one-use for a set of items.
If you're arguing for the ability of 'peeking inside' the bundling wrap, it would probably break the air-tight seal of it or whatever and make stuff spoil again, realistically.

You can open the bundling wrap to check too.

realistically you couldnt bundle living animals or hundreds of rocks.

the point is not  to open to peek, but to label them when wrapped, like you would label a jar

I think that character could have different quotes for bundles. Like "this one is too heavy" when it's filled with logs, rocks, walls... construction materials. Or "smells like food" when it's filled with food. I don't know what are the things that people usually wrap, I don't use it so much.

this is a really silly thing to say. dissonance between what the player knows and what their character knows is a normal thing in videogames

In real life you don't have a meter to check precisely how alive you are. I think that the convenience of being able to check greatly outweighs any sort of desire for "realism"

Also, while talking about naming tags, I'd love this especially for Wanda. Currently we have to remember where each individual Backtrek Watch leads and it's not that great. I'd like to think that a renamed item would have its name displayed in a different color (of your choice) in full size, with the item's real name underneath but smaller

Tried using different skins for it? Bundling wrap and the other christmas wrapping stuff with petals has different skins too... So you can at least divide it into groups by the look of it. Also putting packages into corresponding chests and so on...

still pain to do with full people on the server

Once I placed 3 wraps each under signs saying what's inside. Inside was 12 stack of seeds 1 of each kind except eggplant and durian. Next morning i joined I've found someone unwrapped two of them leaving 8 stacks of seeds to turn into rot.  If they could check what's inside before opening them they most likely wouldn't open any since they left one unopened.

I have nothing against being able to peek what's inside.

What's the point of leaving comment like this?

Is it not clear to you OP knows how it works?

It has no need to be changed.

There's also no need for you to play video games but you do it anyway probably for the same reason.

It wouldn't technically be "peeking", just a proper "label". Any sane person would label an opaque package one way or the other. I don't mind not being able to see the freshness of the items, but labeling what items are inside and how many is common sense.

Yea makes sense.
