I started using Fast Track not so long ago and this issue came up after I think 50 cycles of gameplay, and the second one happened 1 day after the first one, so I am almost sure it has to do something with Fast Track... Unfortunetly. Because Fast Track it's such a godsend.

My guess would be it is a genuine bug in fast track. Maybe the new reachability changes? My food is accessed by an auto sweeper above freezing tile putting it into a 1kg fridge.<

And yes, it's a pity. Hopefully it will get fixed.

1 kg is too low. I had dupe miss a meal many time (either distance or food in fridge being reserve for furthest dupe). I played with no mod though. You guys should do a test case and focus on their chores.

As I wrote before: I reloaded the auto save of the cycles the dupes starved. They all started with nearly 4000 kcal. So they ate last cycle. Also there was no starvation warning.

Fast Track 0.9.18 has been released. This version has compromised on the rare race condition causing Duplicants to instantly starve by serializing all Amounts updates, which unfortunately will introduce a sizable performance loss. Likewise, several Atmo Suit changes from 0.9.17 have all been reverted as it apparently causes loops in some situations.

So after the update of the mod I played for three hours and it happened again: instant starved while eating without a warning. Checked previous cycle. +3k kcal and and zero stress.

It seems like this race condition is machine specific - thousands of hours of testing (yes, literal thousands) have never reproduced this issue even once on my end. If you have the time, can you try disabling each option in the options menu, one at a time (or half at a time with a binary search if you know how to do that) and isolate which one it is?

Any idea which options might be the most promising? I guess something like using mesh renderers isn't too probable to cause this bug.

Due to the nature of race conditions, exact timing might be critical, and nearly every option modifies timing to some extent. It literally could be any of the options.

Variations of this bug have existed for months, there is no way to revert back this far. It happens so rarely that it is almost certainly specific to certain machines.

Fast Track 0.10.0 has been released for compatibility with the Hot Shots game update.

As is with many large game updates, new bugs may have been introduced. Report any new issues to the GitHub page.

Found something funny: the mod gives critters the "Change this Duplicant's outfit" which crashes the game if you press it (probably has something to do with critter optimization)

Edit: I realized that info window would now has this button and not just critters lol

Fast Track 0.10.2 has been released.

  • Path cache optimized, hits about 5-10% more often on average than before in most situations
  • Fixed a very rare crash when Pips or Sweetles looked for nearby plants/eggs
  • Fixed a memory leak in Auto-Sweeper caching which could also cause lag spikes after pausing
  • Fix a potential crash when played on the hotfix U44-537329

  • Drillcone side screen runs much faster, and should no longer lag the game when closed

  • Add compatibility with an exciting upcoming mod

There seems to be an issue for me with the Engineer Build Priority mod, where they do not get scheduled correctly over lower priority jobs. Disabling either mod made them build as expected. My assumption would be that adding new job categories is not correctly handled?

Nevertheless, update 0.10.5 has fixed numerous small bugs:

  • Several "fixes" to Chore Optimizations to make it consistent with subtle bugs in the base game (solves rec time related stuttering, showering stopping/starting, and several other quirks)
  • Further optimizations to Background World Inventory
  • Sped up gas shader updates when necessary to reduce weird visual artifacts when scrolling very quickly
  • Cleaned up details panel to more closely match the base game
  • Fix a 3-way incompatibility with Mod Filter and Mod Updater
  • Fix a 3-way incompatibility with Engineer Build Priority and Efficient Supply

Note that Fast Track will be blamed for ALL crashes due to bugs in the crash reporter.

Version 0.10.6 brings massive performance improvements to the Spaced Out! Starmap, especially on larger clusters and modded worlds, and does fix a potential crash on the properties tab.
